What Wheels/Tires for my 87?

All,

Just put some inexpensive RADAR RLT-8 tires on my 4Runner for day-to-day use.

I intend to buy a spare set of wheels and to mount more aggressive offroad tires. Safe to assume I should got with 16x8 wheels? Suggestions?

I'm not a big, fancy wheel guy. In fact, if I can find some used wheel that are cosmetically challenged, I'd just rattle can them flat or satin black and be happy.

What tires?
In my big heavy Dodge, I liked 255/85R16 because it would give me clearance and dig right down through the muck to give me traction.
I believe the much lighter 4Runner might actually do better with wider, flotation type tires??? Size?

If its not lifted, I like a 31 10.50 LT15 Cooper discovery ST. They have a kevlar belt so they dont get flats!

I'm about to lower the rear about 1-1/2".
