What Will the 4Runner TRD PRO Have?

ray:I would not think Toyota would keep promising us a supercharger for a few years, then at Summit tell us "this December". Only to release one on a vehicle as a kick in the nuts to everyone who wanted one for so long.

While I would love a supercharger, it's not going to come standard.. ever... even on a TRD Pro model.
Leaving that item an option, will bring the price down substantial enough that the (already limited) market will support more sales of the "special" truck.
By leaving the supercharger an option item, they can also more easily put it in the accessory catalog. i.e. wife will shut down dad shopping for a race truck, but will roll over for a catalog that also includes a tissue holder and where dad can say the extra power is to tow the camper/boat.
Just like Volvo, Honda, and virtually all other auto makers, the "performance" line will be more stickers and trim bits than actual performance.
The suspension is an easy swap and that will happen. I can also see TRD rims being standard, and the TRD intake.

upgraded shocks, skids, wheels/ BFG all terrains, Trail edition trim but all monotoned. different engine tuning for a small bump in power, slightly louder exhaust but not a full replacement. fancy interior upgrades like multi-colored seats

This. Including the SC will price the potential-sale-posers out of the market. While if a catalog option, the serious ones can still get it.
Guessing this is pretty-much on target.

Maybe it will be similar to the 09 trail having a rear locker, torsion center differential, and Bilstein shocks. That with KDSS, TRD wheels, and other visual updates would be an interesting combo.

It will be badge, maybe three color choices, TRD seat logos, TRD suspension and wheels. And then the 2014 TRD accessories become available to the public on it's release date so that buyers can can start loading up there 4RunnerProTRD. The marketing scheme is absolute genius, and people will eat it up with a spoon.

Option 1 and 2 for sure.
The supercharger if there is one, would be an option IMO, as they have stuck too for so many years "You need to drive it first before we put it on so you know how much of a difference it makes" line then charge you another $6500 for install. I believe that is a cash cow they will never let go.

When has a "TRD Pro Ultimate Performance" package on ANY US spec Toyota ever been anything but visual mods?
The entire TRD arm is a joke, meant to con retards into spending 100 bucks on an oil cap with red and black katakana scrawled all over it.

-long travel front and rear Fox suspension with external reservoirs with reinforced arms and control arms with body kit to accommodate extra travel and flared fenders
-lightweight driveshaft
-rebuilt transfer case that can operate in 4WD Hi above 80mph
-6 speed manual
-supercharged engine, good for 450hp/450torque
-lightweight alloy rims with 38" desert racing tires
-lightened body shell with rear seat/cargo tray delete option
-transmission cooler
-internal roll cage/reinforcements
Make it into an off-the-shelf Baja truck to compete with the Ford Raptor, price it just under 50 grand. Make 1000 of them. Beat dealers who try to mark them up.

I voted option 2. Beyond that I feel like something around a .1% chance of a SC and a .001% chance of a v8. Because this is Toyota we are talking about, my guess is that it will end up with a bunch of stuff you could do aftermarket for cheaper.

I bet .00000001% chance of anything other than a v6, .00000001% chance of a supercharger seeing as how Toyota has never put a supercharger on one of their trucks or SUV's from the factory (at least to my knowledge...), probably low chance of any cool suspension stuff other than maybe some OEM style upgrade. Would be pretty awesome if Toyota did make something to compete with the Raptor in the T4R or Tacoma form... I would bet they would sell quite a few. Lots of people like to drive those factory upgraded rigs to the grocery store and the office.:yo:
