You won the lotto? Only have one rule don't be dumb be realistic...
Take a few weeks off work and switch to part time ...
I would not tell anyone and go buy a house get if fully furnished ...
Go buy a new Sienna for the wife and for me a new Dodge Viper and 4runner...
I would go and buy a ass load of tools and stuff for fab work and what not... and do work to the 3rd gen and do work to my corolla :-)
I would also get it split up weekly or whatever it is not in a lump sum I would probably blow it all to fast..
And after all that then id pull up in my viper and surprise my wife and take her to the house and show her everything... I think that's about it lol what about you guys?

Whoa, take it easy. As far as I know, you may have just hit the jackpot. And I would hate to see you blow it like a professional athlete.
Maybe because I'm no fun, :nerd: the lump sum would go right into preferred stocks that pay 5-6-7%

Live on the dividends and you will always have the principle. Most importantly,
never ever tell anyone of your good fortune.

Put it in an account and live off the interest. After a buying a decent house, 3 car garage, wood shop, blah blah blah. But i would still work, I love my job.

First off, i would keep my jobs(watersports instructor and Northstar at Tahoe), part time!! Buy a 3br/3bth house w/ custom 6 bay garage...Tundra longbed(me)...Silverado 2500(gf)...Malibu 23 vride...a Polaris 800 RMK-pro 163(me)...Polaris 600 RMK-pro 155(gf)...CRF450X...30' TT...horses for the gf...and of course: a 1985, 1994, 2002, my 2007 and 2012 4runners fully built!!

Most importantly...finish school and save for my future kids!

Well, seeing as how you didn't say an amount, I'm going to assume it's well above my spending ability! I'd make my T4R a long travel toy and get a 99+ Highlander or Sport 4WD and turn it unto an expedition rig/ DD. Decent sized house (4 car garage w/ lift and room for metal fab/ welder/ etc of coarse). Street legal KTM, 18ft+ center console for ocean fishing, and.... Wait. You said don't go crazy!? Well, that just takes all the fun out of it!

Probably start by buying a ranch out west somewhere, preferably Colorado or maybe Wyoming, Idaho, etc.

Then from there I would start planning world travels - there are a million local festivals that center around any location specific theme that I would love to go to, etc. Think Anthony Bourdain without the camera crew.

Buy a new house and a bunch of hunting land out west. If it is enough money get a fast 6 seat airplane and start flying again. This would all happen after I determined the amount need to put into investments in order to live comfortably off of the interest. Would also like to be able to donate to help troubled youth.

so by not being dumb you mean not being the youngest to ever win the lotto and then waste it by starting a womens wrestling business? hmmmm....

(thinking this is over 10 mil...)

i would give probably about 1 mil to each of my family members (5 people)

pay off the 4runner, buy a cheap, but decent house. (there are some really nice 4bd 3 bath going for 80k right now)

then i would just bank the rest and live quietly. maybe take a couple vacations. ive always wanted to see auschwitz. tour europe. but i would skip france.

oh, and i would get a few more Glocks. :)

watch for a drop in gold and invest 40-60% in gold
Buy two new toyota vehicles for my wife and I and pay off the house. Perhaps a 3rd one for my 13 year old son.
10% to Church
build a cabin on my land ??? mabey

I think tax on a million dollars is around two million so i better set some back for that.

How much is the jackpot? I would plan differently depending on how much I win. Half a million, I sock it away as a rainy day fund. Now, if it's a haul of 10 million or a 100 million. I'll have a little shopping spree.

Sorry Desert guy, Dodge stopped making the Viper in 2010.

My lotto winnings, if it is $50 million plus, buy a golf course and I would be in charge of cutting the grass.

$10 million, retire from my desk job and cut grass at a golf course.

Both options I think I'd buy a Nissan GT-R Black Edition, just to upset my Dad (he does not like Japanese cars). :zoom:

Ever heard the joke,
Husband: "Honey I won the lottery, pack"
Wife: "What should I pack for, a beach or a city trip"
Husband: "I don't care as long as you are out of the house by noon" :bigok:

Ha ha ^ and ya I know that stopped making the viper :-( but its still new to me lol and why are have your heart set on cutting grass at a glof course? Ha ha its not very fun I've done it

I will cars and house and different gadgets that is really I think I will enjoy, the remaining money I will put it in my account and think some business especially with cars.

First i would probably put it all to college loans and complete school (as you never know where life takes you or where this money will end), but while at school i would either buy an NAS spec Defender 90 Soft top, or get a Series 3 Hard Top and then buy the canvas roof for it. Then give my immediate family as much as needed to fulifull whatever they would like to do or buy to life comfortably (within reason). As much as i would love to win the lottery i dont think winning it until i am older than 25 or 26 is a better time considering i would like some work expierence and time in the real world to figure out how live within my means and also i would rather find a wife based off my own qualities as a person rather than what my bank account says, because at 19 years old with ADHD, 6 million a year for 20 or so years is very hard to manage well with no real life skills other than sitting in a classroom. With that said i will without a doubt being going on vacation as soon as i win, and buying either Land Rover when i get back :D

Also, i would buy COB a 2000 4x4 4cyl 5 speed 4Runner from outside of the rust belt so he can do this damn 4x4 and 5 speed swap.

If I won the Jack Pot lotto I would use up a small portion to go back to school for a few years after quitting my job give me time to be a full time student and study, for enginerring of some kind, real estate, & more auto mechanics classes.. I would send my Kids mother to school as well. would def get a house in the $400k range nothing like crazy huge.. would need atleast 5 car garage or maybe just a giant bay in the back without taking up a descent size yard for my kids, I would buy my mother, sister, and father 2 yr old newer vehicles nothing exotic.. I would have a strictly off road vehicle/souped up import/Luxury family vehicle/ all at a realistic price.. nothing brand new.. all used.. I dont need Brand new.. I just want a toy, fast, comfortable.. lol the rest would be stored in the bank living off intrest and after school I would go back to work.. and than kick back and watch my kids grow up with everything I never had.. I would def have a couple atv's, sports bike and a Harley.. I would prob by my house in the foothills of the rocky mountains also.. I love it up there..

Ps. I would also own a good 30 homes renting them out and fliping them when economy ever shoots back up.. not all at once of course..
