What would you do?

I picked my t4r up today from the dealer after being serviced twice this month for problems with my sunroof. Sunroof finally works like new, but because I didn't immediately return their call to pick my truck up they decided to do 'express maintenance' which includes oil and filter change, tire rotation, and visual inspection because my maintenance light was blinking. I called the service guy 2 hours after he left me a message and he told me he had done this and I told him I actually do my own maintenance and that I just wanted the sunroof fixed because it was still under warranty. He told me it was okay and that he'll waive the fee. Thing is, I use Amsoil Synthetic Oil & Filter and they put regular oil and toyota filter back into it. I usually change my oil and filter every 7500 miles and I put about 3000 miles on my truck since the last change. It was also over due for a tire rotation. It might be too late to bring anything up now since I didn't say anything when I picked up my truck, but what would you do...leave the dino oil and switch back on the next change or have it changed immediately? Thanks in advance!

I'd just wait and put yourself back on schedule. One 4500mile run of dino oil won't hurt a thing.

Although I agree with tomhaney and CJ3Flyr about the dino oil not hurting your T4R. I too run the Amsoil Syn oil and filter and would be pissed at the dealership had they not got my permisson first before doing work. But whats done is done. Being a stickler on the type of oil and filter I use, I would've went right back to the Amsoil and filter. But thats just me.

Yeh I was thinking WTF when he told me, but I just decided to forget about it because the guy was super nice from the beginning. I just never would have thought that dealerships would do work without authorization first.

It does sound kind of shady... I wonder if the moron tech didn't do it by accident and they were just saving face. I agree with you also- I would have been upset as well.
