I technically paid sticker, but I got another 2500 out of my trade from negotiations so which bucket it came out of I didn't much care.
Just sold my 2018 TRD ORP with 20,000 miles and am getting a 2013 LX 570 with 40,000 miles on essentially a 1-1 basis. I've needed a vehicle to tow, so will take the age difference and minimal mile difference. Sad to see my T4R go, but Carmax paid me 5k more than what I paid for it. Looking for a 2nd gen to fill in the gap.

I recently traded in my 2020 TRDORP for a 2021 RAV4 Prime. I finally admitted to myself that the 4Runner was way more capability than I'll ever need. With how much I drive, fuel economy was also a consideration.

I saw a commercial for the new Pathfinder and thought it looked ok, but I think it still has the CVT.
I love the look of the early Xterra's but wouldn't buy one, but a modern take on it would be cool.
Wife has a Highlander and it's a pretty sweet ride.
Honda Pilot looks pretty nice.
Toyota has a real opportunity with the 6th gen 4runner, I hope they don't blow it.

Just sold my 2020 trd orp back to the dealer for 46k after buying it last year for 41k
Went out and bought a 3rd 4runner. My 2020 was littered with rattles and the dealer could never figure them out

There's really nothing in the marketplace that I have a hard on for right now.
So I'm thinking of doing these three things in order to see if it helps drivability.
Pull the winch off. It's never been used. Weighs almost 70 lbs. And I have a feeling that the Eibach suspension would have better dampening with less pre-compression on the springs.
Go back to stock size tires with a less aggressive tread. Something like the Continental TerrainContact, Hankook Dynapro, or Nokia Rotiva.
May sell my rocksliders and get some lightweight steps off craigslist.
If all that doesn't work, then maybe look into a different suspension. Maybe even go back to some new OEM take-offs I can find for cheap/free. I think the OEMs can support 50lbs additional weight which is about what they will see with the C4 low pro bumper I have on it (75lb bumper - ~25lbs of stock bumper stuff you take off)

For me, i don’t mind having a car that everyone has….it just means that it is a damn good car because everyone agrees. You don’t want to have an Aztec-like car that no one has/want!
Theoretically, I think the only vehicle that I'd consider replacing my 4runner with would be the new Bronco. But, I came from a 2016 Ecoboost F150 and honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about Ford. I've had a few issues with it that I feel should not have happened (cough cough always-leaking oil pan).
In reality, I don't want to part with my 4runner. If I were itching for something different, I'd probably pick up a second vehicle purely for better road manners and more road-going fun. Something like a manual MKVII GTI or something, where the lower-reliability of it wouldn't matter all that much. I work from home so most of my driving is strictly for fun, whether on road or off.

I owned a Ford from age 16 to age 45. The problem with Ford is that they have a policy of screwing existing customers at all cost. I had an F150 5.0 with a loose wrist pin that knocked horribly. Ford wouldn’t touch it. Also dealt with the horrific manual tranny in the ‘15 Mustang GT. I try to stay away now.

The 2022 Pathfinder comes with a 9 speed automatic and can tow 6,000 pounds.
Probably my top choice if I was looking today but owning a 2007 4R with only 158,000 miles, I won’t be in the market anytime soon.
I also like the styling and size of the Grand Cherokee but I can’t get past their poor reliability.
Impressive, but still a unibody that will get demolished doing 4Runner stuff.
