What would you take from another truck/car?

There was a very interesting thread about this on thenewx.org (where I would go to learn about my old Nissan XTerra), and I thought it might be interesting here. (And yes, I searched and it doesn't seem that anyone has posted this before).

We all love our rides - but what feature/option would you take from other SUVs/trucks/cars? The general consensus from the XTerra guys was the rolldown rear window from the T4R, but it could be anything. Technical, aesthetic, or anywhere in-between. And for the sake of argument, leave fitting or general engineering problems out of it - it's more of a thought experiment than anything...

What would you drop onto/into your T4R that someone else has?

A factory front locker like H3s had. If GM could put one in an IFS front end I know Toyota could too. Especially because our front clamshell is known to be a pretty stout unit.

I would say diesel as well, but it's not really from another car, since the worldwide market already has a diesel on the 4Runner (Prado) platform.

I was trying to think of other features:

SFA - Meh. Over-rated. IFA is great fro what I do, and honestly, what 99% of the people do.
V8 - 4.6 would be nice. If the MPG doesn't change (21MPG), then I'd be all for it.
Approach/Departure angles - I think smaller factory bumpers would be awesome (like Jeeps, H3's, etc.). Although they'd be plastic, at least they wouldn't get torn up as easily getting hung up on rocks.
Rear spare hanger - Would probably mean barn doors. Give 'n take here.
Tail gate - Would really like a tail gate option, like the Land Cruisers.

I want a cheap 4x4 with a front live axle and a small diesel engine that won't overheat when crawling along the trails.

The power train (6.0L v8 L76 + 6spd auto) from my 09 Pontiac G8/Holden Monaro. With cyl deactivation it still gets great MPG and can be made to make crazy power NA if desired. The newer variants will be even better with direct injection. Simple pushrod V8s rule, get rid of all the cams and weight. Toyota could source motors from GM and save everyone money in the long run.

The interior trim from my 05 Holden Marano/Pontiac GTO. No cheap paint or plastics that scratch.... Looked brand new after 8 years.

The climate control system (front and rear) from my 07 Tahoe. Wow that thing was good, but the interior was crap overall.

The sound insulation + heated and cooled seating in my 2014 GMC Sierra SLT. You feel so comfy in that thing no matter what it is like out.

Then again. I like my 4 runners basic nature. Nothing fancy but solid and well put together. I think the cheap interior surfaces are my biggest complaint. Seats are not bad. AC fan and routing needs a boost.

Doesn't really need it but I absolutely love my Chevy Quadrasteer. It's an '03 and I may never sell it.

In reality, I'd simply like a V8 option.

BTW, The roll down rear window is one reason we got another 4runner.

Some kind of AT tire coming stock with the Trail (and please God don't put out that beautiful TRD Pro with street tires too!) Better yet do a Rubicon and get BFG to re-produce the original KM mud tires in size 265/70/17.
