What year LC coils should I get for a lift?

Hi there,

I'm piecing together my lift kit for 3 inches on my '98 4runner. Just bought some front coils today (horaay!) and I'm still hunting for rear coils.

I want to use the front coils from an FJ80 LC. I know of a set from a 1991 LC that I can go buy right now locally but I don't know if they are what I need. I've seen a lot of 9.25 coils come from '91s and I think that's a little too much lift for me. I want around 8 wraps.

So, are all 1991 coils 9.25 wraps or should I got check these babies out?

Also, what years will likely produce 7.25 - 8 wrap coils?

Sorry if this has been posted before, I've searched before and haven't found definitive answers.

I've never seen anything definitive on what years had what number of wraps. You're better off confirming the color code. The guy I bought mine from said they came from a '93 LC. One is 7.5 wrap (double purple, light blue, white) and the other is 8 wrap (double purple, dark blue, white). This thread should help.

I believe those 91s will end up being the tall ones but post up if find information to the contrary.
