Will '08 tire pressure sensors work in my '04 model? Will other toyota model vehicle tps work in my 4 Runner?
Can I reset them myself with a magnet like I can in my other vehicles?
If it's correct, most Toyota models are compatible, although Toyota has several different OEM part numbers.
One error in that PDF file - 4Runner didn't get TPMS until 2004. The 2003 didn't have it.
Haven't heard of the magnet trick. All I know is that the on-board computer must know the unique ID number of each sensor, so if you replace one, the dealer has to program it.
On the 4Runner, the system is hard-coded to expect more than 27 psi. On other Toyota models, there is a reset switch whereby you can change the level at which the light comes on.
