What's better outside mount or in channel mount

Alright so I want to buy some AVS side window visors but there are 2 kinds outside mount and channel mount ones which are better?

Alright so I want to buy some AVS side window visors but there are 2 kinds outside mount and channel mount ones which are better?

I have the outside mounted ones that have been on mine for years with no issues, they were on it when I bought it, I have a them on my Suburban as well that I installed several years ago again no issues.

I can't say about the channel mounted ones other than I have read where others have posted having issues with the window not rolling all the way up because of the safety anti-crush feature on the windows, it's appears that the sensor feel the extra resitance and think someone has their finger being pinched and stop before being complete closed, no first hand knowledge on this though, maybe others can chime in if they have them or tried them.

Thanks man I'll go with the outer mounted ones rather than the channel mounted ones.

yep I like the stick on outer ones, while they aren't as pretty I never have to worry about window "pinch protection" causing the window to not stay up and also the in channel ones can scratch off window tint and start peeling from the edge.

I have done both versions. Prefer the in channel, no leaks or where the outer ones have tend to unstick by the mirror.

Never had a problem with the window safety device.
Installed and rolled up overnight for a good seal/adhere.

get the wellvisors

i had weathertech before and once it falls out, its not good anymore.

wellvisors installs just like the ones you get from japan, it sticks on on the outside, but also uses clips too.

I have the AVS in channel ones. Don’t like the way the stick on ones look. Took a bit of adjusting to install properly but it seems most the people that have problems with them were due to incorrect install. Most of it goes into the channel but the ends actually go outside which it seems is where most people get it wrong. I haven’t had any issues with my windows not sealing or closing properly and the auto up on the drivers window also works perfectly as well.

never had an issue with either, on any of my rigs.
