Whats cheaper? Fix or replace?

Hey guys, I hit a light pole this morning and there is a dent on the bottom front bumper.. So I was just wondering would it be cheaper to fix the bumper or just get a new one?

Get a hair dryer or heat gun and heat it up and try to pop it back out from the inside. Get some brake clean and rub off any paint transfer and see how bad it looks after that. You might be ok with the results and won't have to repair or replace.

I did the same thing to my parent's Camry in high school. I went to the gf's place and used her hair dryer, the dent popped right out. Used a little brake clean to get the paint off and lucky for me it was good as new.

Or it's just an excuse for a custom front bumper. Show the light pole who's boss.

dammit. I feel for you. Being the MORON I am, I tried to back my truck into the garage last night so the snow would melt off it. Of course, I did not clear off the side windows and backed right into the brick garage. Cracked and badly scratched rear bumper. Also scratched rear tail light cover. Like another poster said, you may be able to fix yours, and I would give that a try. Mine needs a replacement. I can only imagine how much this is gonna cost...

Fix, that damage isn't that bad. If you can't fix it yourself any moble auto repair guy can have that fixed in a couple hours max.

With the large amount of people doing bumper replacement here with an ARB or Shrockworks, I would bet you can find a replacement one on the cheap.

Definitely fixable. Agree with heat gun approach first. Some of that prob won't buff. Local body shop could repair but prob gonna be a few hundred dollars by the time you figure removal, a few hours repair, paint time with 3 stage paint and reinstall.

Yeah, thanks. I may explore that route. Three estimates yesterday put it between $900-$1100. I got no one to blame but myself. Funny thing is a few days ago I was giving my wife sh!t for putting things down the garbage disposal that she knows cannot go down there. So, we had to have a plumber come out and fix it. How the tables have turned. Now, I am the one who is (rightfully) taking sh!t. And she is enjoying every minute of it.
