Whats in your fuel filter...

Here is what I dumped out of my fuel filter today after changing it.

I was a little dissapointed at first as the fuel coming out was nice and clear and I thought I did it for no reason. I shook it a little to get all the fuel out and thats when things got Nasty!

Also, Does everyone have this plastic skid plate? I had to remove it to access the filter and didnt see anything about it in the write up I used.

No, no plastic guard under any of my trucks.

I know I originally had the plastic guard but it broke off, don't know when, it just wasn't there one day.

My Plastic skid plate musta rusted off

My fuel filter when i changed it, the old one was installed backwards and it was almost fully clogged, the new one has fuel in it.

changed mine right after i bought it almost 2 years ago. i did know how long the old one was on there or if it was an original one that came wit the 4runner. better safe than sorry.
