I would like to get opinions from you guys especially those from mid-atlantic (I am from NJ) on how to price out my 1988 4Runner SR-5. The truck seems to have most available options: Chrome package, sunroof pw, pdl,tilt, cruise, alloy wheels gray interior original am-fm cass. etc, The interior is in excellent condition V-6 5 speed 182,000 mi new clutch. Runs great, quiet, no smoke, smooth. I have owned the truck for almost 2 years. During that time I have done the following: added tilt/altimeter, replaced gas line and filter from motor to tank, Added ball joint spacers up front and a custom leaf spring pack in back no sag now! tires are 32x11.5x15s, new master cylinder, brakes all around, new e-brake cable, rebuilt front end ball joints tie rod ends etc, the frame was stripped primed with rustoleuem and top coated with Eastwood frame paint. Added a bikini top amongst other things. The plow was installed back in November and would not be sold with the Runner. Everything works in the truck except for a/c.The truck is unmolested, the things I did made it more drivable/reliable. My intent was to do the mechanics first then start on the body this spring, then I found an 85 4runner which is 4cyl stick no power accessories and those awesome vent windows that I missed so much. I want to concentrate my time and $ on the 85 call me nostalgic but I have driven 4cyl Toys for the last 20 plus years any love the simplicity of them. On the 88 both fenders are rusty as are quarter panels the floors are rust free. I know what is involved in preparing a truck for a repaint properly and I don't have that kind of time to spend on it. I figured doing a half ***** paint and prep job on it could actually hurt the value of the truck. The truck is in original paint except for the tailgate. The 88's had one of the nicer stripe kits I think. What is it worth guys?
