What's my 4Runner Worth?

I'm just wondering what you guys think it's worth.

1999 Limited w/ 4wd, rear locker, 3.4, 147xxx miles Runs Perfect.

The Good:
-Bridgestone Dueler Revo's with about 10k miles on them, maybe 70%
-Sirius Satellite Radio
-Cobra CB
-Backup camera (makes offroading a breeze)
-Aftermarket Alpine HU and front Boston Acoustic speakers
-K&N Airfilter
-Deckplate and ISR mod
-Aftermarket exhaust, very loud
-Drives straight and does not pull or vibrate
-High Lift Jack to go with it
-Aftermarket Floor mats
-Tons of spare good parts
-Does not leak anything or squeak at all
-New parts in the last 20k miles including front and rear brakes, rear axle seals, spark plugs and wires, water pump, thermostat, all drive belts and timing belt, oil changes with mobil 1 synthetic every 5k miles or less, new gas cap, new catalytic converter, good spare, lifetime alignments via firestone, I take it in for an alignment and rotate and balance every oil change, new front and rear windshield wipers, new rear left shock. Just passed Missouri safety and emissions inspection and if you live in Missouri you know that's not something every car can do. I have receipts for all the work done as well as all of the old parts for proof. I installed the parts myself

The Bad:
-Front left sway bar link is snapped in half due to off roading, the rear left shock is brand new but all the other three still function, however poorly compared to the new one and it's obvious when driving.
-Lots of scratches from trees, most would come out with a good day of buffing but some are deep.
-A small golf ball size dent in the rear right of the bumper ( I had a little wooden pole sneak up on me, whoops).
-It has been offroaded and it shows cosmetically, mechanically it is as reliable as could be, always starts and runs with no trouble. 4wd functions as it should and I make it a point to drive in 4wd for about 10-20 miles every month. Rear locker works great as well.
-The Antenna is pathetic, it has a little black plastic thing in there and it kinda just sits there with no antenna attached to it. There are two tiny dimples above the antenna in the fender, very small and hardly noticeable.

The reason I ask is because I'm arguing with myself over whether or not to sell it and buy something with slightly better fuel economy. This thing drinks gas and it sucks not being able to afford anything but gas and insurance!! Plus I live in St. Louis and there is no legal off-roading anywhere, I hate it. There are plenty of places to off-road illegally however trying to talk your way out of a free trip to jail for trespassing is never fun.

gottcha. If I was in the market for 4runner I'd want yours for sure. You got a great start on it with the mods you've done so far, plus it coming with the locker would make it awesome! Are you looking to sell, or just wondering what you could get?

Well if I lived in a place such as Colorado where I could off-road as much as I'd like to I would not even consider selling it. However here in Missouri I can't stray off concrete hardly at all and I don't see myself going to Colorado until I graduate college which would be at least another 6 years. And I can't get into off road parks here in Missouri because of my age. I've been keeping my eye out for an early 90's Acura Legend. I've been driving my friends a lot lately and it drives beautifully. The power steering is so smooth/easy and it's fast...and man can it drift, lol. Also it gets about 25mpgs and they are cheap but very reliable. If I could sell my 4Runner for atleast 6k I would buy a 6spd legend and not look back! I've seen ones for less than 3k with less than 150k miles on them, that would leave me with lots of cash in my pocket even after insurance, inspection, etc. In the suburbs of St. Louis there is no reason for me to drive this beastly gas hog, lol So yes I am sorta looking to sell it.

If I were you id try to trade..check out craigslist..on Mautofied.com you can post your runer on there. its free. people trade on there all the time. Just giving a few options.

Actually there are several places in your general area to wheel. SMORR, Washita, Flat Nasty and a little farther will get you to Cliffs Insane Terrain in Illinois or Badlands in Attica Indiana.

I should rephrase what I said. There are places, yet I cannot get into them due to my age.

sorry, didnt see that...

I have a hard time believing they wouldnt take your parents signature for you...

Been there done that, a parents signature on a waiver form is valid if I want to be a passenger in a vehicle however in order to actually drive I have to have a legal guardian with me.

Sorry to hear your thinking of selling it, after all the fun you had out here wheeling in CO. However, you make some good and smart points, and for the time being, maybe your right.

When you do graduate, I hope you can get your hands on another off-road machine and come out here to run with us again!! Maybe you can work to keep your daily driver with good gas mileage that your soon to get and pick up something cheap that is just a off road toy. The best thing I did for my runner was getting a little truck to drive everyday.

I don't have any advice for you on the asking price, sorry.

Thanks CSL, I did have a blast in Colorado and wish I could move out there! Another reason I'm thinking about selling it is because I'm going to be inheriting an 89 XJ from my neighbors soon and when I get it that will be my off road toy, Sorry guys, lol

Just would be happy to see you on the trails again someday...even if you are a T4R sellout...

hey, if your thinking about selling it, do it quick, or trade it in, as winter is coming, and dealers know the dependabilty of toyota, so with that and winter, you should do nice, make sure you detail it first, if you have the cash, have a professional detailer do it, to include the under carriage, the better it looks, the more you will get.
Sorry that your thinking about selling it, at least us Colorado people got to meet/wheel with ya and your dad, your good people, and are welcome back anytime, if ya come out for a weekend, let me know, I have an extra seat :thumb3:
