Whats my 4runner worth?

This is not not a for sale thread, im just wondering what you guys think i could list my 4runner for if I was to sell it.

Im the second owner and I just purchased it last fall, now that the warm weather is here im itchin for another go fast toy...

Here are some details on my 4runner , throw out some numbers on what you guys think I can ask for it.

its a 99 2.7 base auto with 123k, and some basic tastefull mods .

Heres a short mod list :

-17 tundra wheels with new hankook 255/70/17 dynapro tires
-1.5" lift
-Rancho shocks all around
-DDM 5000k Hid kit
-body color grill and plate bracket
-White leds everywere inside
-ebay navi unit, with a kicker and and 12" audiobahn
-Drilled/slotted brake rotors
-B&M trans cooler
-Brand new koyo radiator
-New eneos fluids in trans(full flush) , front diff, transfercase
-New front CV axles and lower ball joints
-New plugs and wires
-k&n drop in filter

Did you check KBB.com? Most of the "Mods" you did won't bring any really big difference in selling price...IMHO.

Ya i checked it, but I figured things like wheels and new tires and all the maintance is stuff TR4 guys would appreciate be able to help me with a selling price.

I looked at what others in my area are going for , and theres some with 190k that people are asking 7k for?

Small mods/add ons are not gonna net you much when it comes to resale value. Mileage and overall condition of the vehicle is what buyers are more concerned with. In fact some buyers will be turned off by mods and add ons.

Are the ones going for 7K in your area 3.4's? In your case 4x4 is a plus and 2.7 can be either a plus or a minus depending on what the buyer is looking for.

ya there isnt many 2.7s out there , plus the others i see for sale look terrible compared to mine. The 2.7 gets better highway milage but it has alot of other downsides aswell .

And I hope since my mods arent to crazy it wouldnt turn to many people away.

kbb is 6900 for good 7300 for excellent private party value , but Im curious how acurate that really is.

Thanks for your input though guys keep it coming, keep it coming I just need to decide if I should bother listing it or just hold onto it.

When I did KBB I got ~$6,000.

Honestly I think the one of the only things that might add a little value is the head unit, depends on brand of course.

It's kind of sad that mods don't add as much to resell as they cost, but that's the way it is.

The outside definitely looks clean. What is the inside like?

inside drivers seat shows wear, rest is mint .
I guess maybe ill post it up, and just see what kind of response I get...

Its tough to swallow but your right mods dont seem to be worth much when they are on a truck.

Price it a little higher than other ones in your area. I'm sure you might get somebody that will negotiate the price with you.

not definitely just yet, Ive been on and off the fence the past few days about it , its tough to really know whats its worth. I guess it depends on the buyer.

I might list it on the high side for 7500~8k and see if I get any offers and go from there.

Im not going to give the truck away cause I kind of like it, but I really dont drive it much besides when it snows.

Sounds about right.

Only comment I have is the HID kits don't work well in T4R's because there's no cut-off and it's glaring to oncoming drivers. I just removed my DDM kit and replaced with stock because it was so annoying.

Return the truck to stock and I would think you should get around the $6K range. Then sell off the mods for about 1/2 of what you paid for each item. That's probably what I would do unless someone offered to pay me the base price + the total of all my mods (with the 50% cut) if they wanted it as is.

Ya that makes sense, I could part out the wheels&tires for a good chunk since they are mint and tires are new..

As far as the other mods I never have much spare time so I might try to list as it stands and maybe ill get the right buyer.

Around $6K sounds about right, I agree that the mods add very little to the resale value - most people are not into the mods and don't want to pay anything more than suggested retail value. Putting the truck back to stock is a good idea, sell your tires/rims, etc... seperate and you might get some decent money for them.

Putting upgrades or heavily modifying your truck is only a good idea if you plan on keeping it forever since you rarely if ever get back what money you put into it.
