Whats the best place to mount brake controller

Hey Folks:

I have purchased a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller and have installed the wiring for the controller. I was wondering where the best place to mount is. It seems the best place to mount it is above my right knee, however I do not know if there are wires there. The other possibility between my left knee and right need just below the center column for the steering wheel. I can feel back there and there does not seem to be any wires or critical components. I was wondering where others have their brake controllers.

Also if you have the prodigy are using the sleeve or old style of mounting it?

Mine is mounted by my right knee...no problems and it seems to work well there. There really isn't a "natural" spot in our 4R's.

Mine is left side right next to kick panel (above emergency brake). I made mounting plate out of aluminum - not aware of a sleeve - unless its the plastic piece it slides into to mount. Shame Yota didn't make a blank cutout with door in dash or offer one built in as part of trailering package. I too have the prodigy for 25' Forest River Ultra-Lite.

I have it above the right knee as well using the sleeve mount. Keep in mind it needs to be easy to reach in case you need it manually in an emergency. The wiring harness is on the left side wall. Usually tucked up by the emergency brake.

Thanks Guys I guess I will be mounting it tonight on the right side above my knee. I hope there are no wires there. Wish me luck.
