whats the closest OME coil to achieve same height as LC coil?

i have the LC's in rear. i need some extra towing capacity BAD since i made my own rear bumper. it ain cuttin it. any suggestions? i was going to get the STOCK HEIGHT OME FRONT FZJ80 coils, maybe the light duty ones or something so that the height would stay about the same but be a little stiffer.

It madders what size your LC coils are. You can run the landcruiser OME coils but they can give up too 5" of lift. Too keep the same lift you have I would add a set of air bags. Steve at SS has a set that fits inside your LC coils and you air them up. Improves ride and stability, not to mention stops the damn sagging of the LC coils.

i had them, didn't like em. i just want a more predictable ride. the coils are awesome off road yes . . . but, sometimes when i have to get on it i get that bouncing effect you see in a lot of jeep wranglers with coils all the way around, just bouncing up and down and not sticking. i'd rather have a coil that is more difficult to compress so that it wont bounce so much. not only can it get scary, but you cant any fun slingin out the rear end on a dirt road. stability on the road is compromised pretty badly too. love the LC's, had em for 4 years now and just want to check and see what something else may be like . . .

buy 861's they sound like they would fit your needs. Lots of guys are using them. Maybe even try 9 wraps. I know they sag under load but they give you a ton of lift without weight.

I feel the same way about my LC coils, too soft and I do not like the rake I currently have. I will keep my eye on this thread and see what you come up with.

I had LC 9.25 warps, flex great and soft ride. I got about 4.5"-5" out of them with my usual weight. But when I loaded up for an extended wheeling/camping trip they would squat a few inches. I'm now running OME 861s and they are AWESOME! They flex completely to the bumpstops and carry the weight great. I had 4 days of provisions (10 gallons of water, food, Engel fridge, 10 gallons of gas in NATO cans, tools, spares, cooking gear and clothes for two). From my normal, the whole rig squatted only one inch. I call that success.

I have about 5" of lift with the 861s.

I just towed my ATV trailer (weighing about 3000# loaded) and the back squatted some but was not bad at all.

They are firmer but not bad at all.
(LC coils have a spring rate of 170-180#, OME 861 are 220#)
