Whats the deal with Silver?

Looking for a ’06 and it seems that 80% of them are Silver.... not that theres anything wrong with that!
When I was looking for my ’99 in 2004 the dealer said “Why not a Silver one its the most popular color.” I guess it still is! :driving:

Personally, I would never buy a silver vehicle. It is the hardest of all colors for other drivers to see, therefore it is a slight safety issue. Plus, where I live, in the SouthWest desert, silver vehicles seem more prone to paint fade than any other color.

Having said that, whatever floats your boat ...

.Silver usually looks clean even when its not. All the plastic panels on mine are fading though, but i do live in florida where the suns always beating it up.

Yeah,toyota did overdo silver with the 4th gens since that's apretty popular color around here too;I personally like the red and even a Jade Mica 4th gen would've been nice to see.

Silver really hides the dirt! Never really looks dirty and then shines when clean!

mine is silver..in the old days the clear coat would wear out and the silver paint would oxidize fast the paint is a lot better in the new ones..my 07 is still good with 107k on the clock...though the 2 silver cars i have had owned this one and my NSX both paint is in good shape so far and it does hide the dirt well!

Yep... when I bought mine, my sales rep says 60% of the cars on their lot are silver. When the dealership can't decide on what colors they want on their allocation, they'll just take silver.

Infiniti at one point offered what appeared to be like three shades of silver for the G35.

I think they said for the first time silver is the most popular color in the States and almost edged out black worldwide.

I think silver had its run for the 2000's. Similar to how in the 90's it was the dark green. I think the new color trend now is the darker grays.

I got 2 silver ones. Its def. my most fav. color. The dark gray is a close 2nd, but i like it so much, i did it twice.

the metallic titanium and the pacific metallic blue are really the only two colors I truly prefer... both look fantastic. I just happen to find a titanium one first... go figure.
