What's the hype with H.I.D.?

They produce a lot more light. If your vehicle was not designed for them installing them without retrofitting can cause glare.

I do not have them, but the difference in the amount of light from typical lights and HID's is quite significant.

I put H.I.D.s in my low beams and driving lights on my 4Runner. As stated, the light is brighter, it is whiter, and more crisp.

I have also found that there is a bit less glare thrown back when driving in the fog. But that is just me. Others may disagree.

I thought the stock lights on my 4th gen were more than enough.... If I was ever to get HID's the sole reason would be for how they look. People automatically associate white HID's with luxury cars. The first time my friends drove with me at night they pointed out how I didn't have HID's, and suddenly the car seemed not as good to them. You have to ignore small-minded stupidity though.

it used to be only luxury cars had them...but now you can get factory HIDs out of a kia, not dogging kia's just saying, and most mini vans have them now [even the toyota ones]

i had an Audi with the factory xenon's and ever since then i can not drive a car w/o them. the light output is better cleaner crisper. the glare is there but ive yet to be flashed [which is unfortunate in one aspect] if you can get them....get them.
