I eventually landed on "The BFG", or "Big Friendly Giant" for two reasons. First is that it has BFG's on it, and two it just felt fitting since it's been so banged up over its life, yet it still runs so strong.

This is an 87 I picked up, haven't really driven it at all its just been sitting at my shop. It has two names. "Free bird" and "liberty chicken" . It was painted like that when I got it.

Named mine "The Warthog" after hearing people on car forums refer to the 5th gen refresh as "Ugly as a Warthog" I wasn't really thinking about the Halo vehicle but I assume a lot of people think that's what I meant and it's not a bad secondary meaning. It does a similar job getting me and my troops to far away places

I never got the whole car naming crap myself, but. When we had just the 99' white sr5 it was "the 4Runner". When the red 87' arrived it was given "the red 4Runner" and the 99' graduated to "the white 4Runner". Stay with me now........when the 87' white one showed up we simply had too many syllables. My adult children decided the red 87' would be named after one of their childhood cartoon characters: Clifford. Apparently a large red unruly but otherwise loveable dog. Very appropriate. It stuck.
