Im unable to see the attachment but if its the Hamilton Motor Company its an android based. Its buy at your own risk with the android tablet style head units. They look great but function wise it will be hit miss. If you enjoy tinkering with android tablets give it a try. Would recommend buying a used one on FB market.

What year is your 4runner? One of the best mods I have done was the OEM headunit from 2021 plus i think with the car play

I tried to re-upload the photo. I have a 2014 limited. Wonder how much a head unit from a 21 would cost nowadays?

Looked at upgrading my 2014 limited to post 21 so I could have android auto.

Head unit, jbl Amp and wiring bits looked to be around $1100.

Going to wait awhile, maybe the prices will drop some...

I paid $700 last fall for an Entune 3.0 for my wife’s 2014. Then you need to buy the retrofit harness which is about $200. Works perfectly and I avoided the issues with the Android units. My wife knows the Entune 3.0 w/ Car Play from her 2023. Was not about to introduce Android as it would create work for me.

search local marketplaces , ebay and car-part . Pricing will vary , one i purchased was off ebay for $200-250 , then $200 on adapter harness (could diy if you look into it). I ended up selling the old HU for about $200. Figured I wouldnt change it out and plan on keeping the 4runner for the long haul.

Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit for CarPlay® and Android Auto™

What head unit is it that I see sometimes in 5th gen’s that looks like the setup in the 6th gen where the screen is on top and the vents are under it?

I recently bought and installed (myself) the 2009-2024 Toyota 4Runner Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit for CarPlay® and Android Auto™ in my 2022 4Runner TRD Sport.

One of the reasons I purchased this unit from Hamilton motors as opposed to Amazon or others is that I read that they have great customer service. I've bugged the crap out of them to tweak my head unit and they have helped me get it almost to where I want it.

It is a complex system with a ton of options, maybe too many, everything you could ask for including an option for a SIMM card which will give you the same internet access as a cell phone, (youtube, google, etc.) It's basically a laptop with Android wireless auto and Apple car play.

I have spent a lot of time configuring it and at first I was regretting my decision to install it. Now that I'm slowly figuring out all of the settings I'm thinking it's a cool set up. I love the 13" screen. I still have a few items to figure out but for the most part it's coming together.

If anyone needs help with one I might be able to help.

Hamilton Premium Head Unit

I have a 2017 - picked up a Dasaita head unit a couple years ago. It worked well for about 2 years (I believe it had a one year warranty), then started to glitch - not connect wireless. Dasaita DID send me software updates and communicated via email but after a couple months back-and-forth, I gave up. Enter Hamilton - I was attracted to the larger screen (eyes not what they used to be). I ordered it,installed, and it worked. One glitch/setting problem BUT the tech guys at Hamilton worked with me for two days to get the setting right. The unit has been solid AND it has a three year warranty.

Do they have this for the 2024 TRD Off-road? I have 360 camera/ reverse cam/ full nav. Can this work if I wanted to hook up an aftermarket amp?
