Whats tires look best??

Hey guys, A couple of months ago I lifted my my 4runner and I have now finaly got enough money to buy some new tires. Im looking to go about 33 inches. My question is what tires look best on 3rd Gen. 4runners? If you guys have any pics of what you have I would love to see them. Oh yeah and one more question my back passenger side fender flare broke off, and I don't know if any of you guys have had any touble with these but it looks like toyota is pretty pround of them. They cost like 300$ plus another 200$ for paint and labor. I figure for a little more maybe I could get some aftermarked fender flares maybe bushwaker? for just a little more. Any sugestions here would also help thanks!

What is the purpose of your 4runner? Off-road or on-road or both?? 33" tires are gonna slow you down significantly, esp. 3rd gen 4runners. Fuel economy will go down the drain.

For off-road: Goodyear MT/R, BFG MT, Toyo MT, Bridgestone MT (not in production anymore)

For both on-road & off-road: BFG AT KO (my favorite), Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor, Bridgestone Dueler AT REVO, Nitto AT, Toyo Open Country AT

Yeh you said it Thai Toyo M/T's are real nice. In my opinion not only do they look real sweet they probably are the best M/T tire out there for off road and on road characteristics. But thats just my opinion. Looking at them on line does not do them any justice compared to real life.:D
 
She's deffinatly a looker. Those were my second choice. Only reason I did not go with the new Coopes was they didnt have full sipes through them.

I dont have other rims and tires to swap out from winter to summer so I went for the Toyo so I would be OK in the winter. I know M/T may not be the best for winter/rain but they do have full lenght sipes on them which helped out alot.;):

I have had the Toyo's for a few mounths now and have been very pleased with them. No real off road action yet just light duty stuff, they do well in the snow and rain for an M/T. They humm just abit starting at 80KMh but very minimal.

The only cons is that they are an E rated tire and are much more stiffer then my old BFG ko's, but you get used to it. And they are heavier, both the ko's and M/T are 265/75/16 and the BF were about 43 lbs each where the M/T are 58 lbs a pop. Plus I also found that they do suck about 10 to 12% more gas.

I personaly have had no expeirence with M/T before but am pleased and the Runner seems to have more of a truck feel to it now. My buddy who has been through a wack of different types of tires now swears by the Toyo's.

Again this is my personal view and have not done that much milage on them. The way the gas is going I had to switch DD to a tercel which is a gas miser.

As for pictures how do put them in to the PC? Do I put the into the retractable cup holder?:D I have just been to busy at home with the BS honey dew list if you get my drift.:bash:
 
Nittos don't look quite as aggressive as the BFGs but they have great on road performance especially in the wet with the full siping and with Nittos you'll have something different and IMO they look good on my Runner. I've had no issues off road with them either.
 
SKO, those Toyo MT's are very nice. I have not had them, but i have heard that they are the most highway-friendly MT tire on the market. If I were to go MT route, then it will be Toyo or Goodyear MT/R.
 
I have the 31 BFG's, and the bushwackers flares you mentiond.
The tires are great,even on the hwy.
The flares to me look just like factory. Ihavent done a side/side comparison though.

I'm a total BFG AT fan , but when I started browsing this site trying to educate myself on the awsome & mighty 4R....lol , everyone was on a Revo kick , and even though I've honestly bought atleast 10 set's of BFG AT's in my life I thought I would try something different so I got Revo's , ride nice & great in rain , in snow however I don't see an advantage.

The BFG AT hand's down look's way better than Revo's. I would trade in a heart beat . The BFG's have Never , never let me down in my years of off road excursion's.

If we go to Montana this fall for hunting ect... it is in a very remote place and off the hiway about 10 mile's or so , I will put BFG's on before I go. If I found someone who wanted my Revo's I would switch them out . They(Revo) are a good tire IMO and ride and handle great. I do think it's meant for light , very light off roading though. IMO it like an over aggressive all season tire. I do see more and more of them on truck's around here. They are becoming quite popular .

K6UK, your truck look's awsome with those tire's on there.

I care alot more about off road performance then on road noise and ride quality. I think I want to go with an mt tire.
