My first mod was upgraded rotors and brakes because they needed to be replaced anyway. Swapping the 20” wheels on my 2010 limited to smaller ones and new tires #6thpost #questfor15
First mod was HID low beams. Much easier (safer)
to see at night. Adjusted the aim so they aren't binding oncoming traffic, or flooding the cabin of cars at stoplights. Honestly I think some OEM setups are worse offenders than this mod (e.g. new Acura LED headlights, previous gen Corolla HID's)
Ok so I got my first 4runner a couple of weeks ago and I want to jump into modding this thing so bad but I have to take care of some things first.
1) rust correction and prevention. Luckily mine only has minimal surface rust but I am still going to wire brush it, treat it, and paint it. Then follow up with FF or something similar.
2) I have got some noise coming from both the front and rear sway bars (links are ok). So i have to change out some bushings. I will be going with polyurethane. Does anyone know if someone makes the nongreaseable ones with the fur stuff inside for the 4runners?
3) A buddy of mine hooked me up with his 5th gen wheels and tires but I have git to get some new rubbers on there stat.
4) Finally, I am going to take a look at the timing belt and see if that needs to be replaced. The 4R was pretty well taken care of but I want to make 100% sure of my mechanicals before i jump into aftermarket. Anyway here are some pics of her.

oh man. i bought my 99 last week and i've already ordered:
lift kit
f5 wheels
total chaos front UCA
will get some tires ordered tomorrow. will also probably be doing the LBJs and possibly the steering rack bushings and outter tie rods. hoping i can install all at once to only have to pay the alignment man once.
What kind of lift kit did you order?

Remove spacers and still debating between ICON stage 2 3.5” or Toytec 3” with 1” spacer, BMC and hopefully 315s! Hoping to get this done over the winter!
