What's your opinion on this custom side step mod?

A side step tube with a dual purpose. Step + Side protector reducing dings in parking lots.

The idea is simple but will it look aesthetically pleasing? Your opinions please. Thanks.

Standard side step bar comes straight out.

What if it angled up?

Then the angle up bars might look bad, so they can be color matched to the 4Runner. The straight bar it self will be chromed.

Did you use Autocad 2009 or 2010 to mock this up?? JK. I think black mounts with chrome bar in the bottom pic design.

lol. I think it will be easier than I thought. Side step straight tubes come ready to install to any customized mounts. I would only need to make the mount part the angles up.

I think if you are not concerned about ground clearance, it will look/work fine.
Design can be simple or complex- your choice. One single bar bent would look best if chrome, otherwise how will you attach chromed outer bar to arms?
