Wheel hub assemblies

Hey everyone,

Where is everyone buying the complete wheel hub assemblies from?
I was going to buy from NJ636 but looks like he got banned??
I think there is one other like Marion bumper to bumper or something like that.
Recommendations? My front right needs replaced very soon

I just bought two 2wd assemblies from him. He said he was banned here b/c they tried to make him pay for a vendor account, but he builds and sells the hubs in his spare time and doesn't make much money off of it - it's not a business for him. If you google Jersey Built Hubs, you can order from there, and there's a link to the TacomaWorld thread that describes the hubs and build process.

One thing I would note, if you need them tomorrow, he's probably not your guy. I read through a lot of the TW thread, and some people had some complaints about lack of communication. His response was that he does this in his spare time, and he's not on the forums all the time checking posts and PMs. It took me 2 weeks to get mine, but my truck wasn't disabled, so I was fine with it. I'll add that they were very well packed in the box, and the install was super easy. I've never done it before, and I was done in about 2 hours.

Good to know. I hope mine won’t be “disabled” any time soon but I’d like to get them done sooner than later.

I'm in the same boat. I just want them on hand, just in case. I ordered from him as I'd rather support the small guy. I'm fine waiting a couple of weeks or even a month as I'm actually hoping I can make it thru this summer with my current bearings and then next winter upgrade my LCA/LBJ to Total Chaos Non-Long Travel (no desire to go long travel...I know! Minority!) and put those in along with new bearings and CVJ axles.
 
I bought mine 20k miles ago from him and they have been great. Took about two weeks to get them and not very responsive to emails, but good easy to install OEM quality parts.
 
Do y’all remember roughly how much you paid? He does 4WD and 2WD hubs right?

I believe he was charging $330 for a pair of 4x4 ones.

Does anyone know about anyone besides NJ636?

I just get the bearing and hub and bolts and press them together myself with a hydraulic press. total cost is around 50/hub. Ebay for hubs and bearings and dealer for bolts. You can also unpress the hub from the old bearing to get the bolts out if you have a large bearing separator.

How are you doing it for $50? I'm guessing you're not using a Koyo bearing? From a quick search, a wheel hub is around $20 and a Koyo bearing is around $80. Sellers sell it for around $160 for it pressed in. Worth it if you don't have a press and it'll probably end up being around the same if you take it to a local shop.

i have 4 available im selling rightnow and ready to ship. i built the hubs myself too and is packed with grease.

I just bought 2 4WD assemblies from him. I was wondering why he was banned. I did see he was active on Tacoma World so I purchased from him. I like to support members and the little guy if I can.
I just started getting the dreaded bearing noise. Ironically right after I installed rims and tires. Hopefully I will receive and install before it totally poops out.

Save yourself a headache and get BluePit hub assemblies - it uses Koyo bearings, Japan made hubs and comes with necessary Toyota seals.

I just spoke to the guy at Marion Bumper2Bumper on Friday, placed the order yesterday. He said I would have it by end of this week/weekend...
Bluepit's are $279 PER assembly.....that's over $100 per assembly for the same parts.
If I was in dire need I would consider it but I'm not

No Koyo, These are all chinese parts and I have a complete extra assembly in the truck in case one of them breaks. So far I have 10k miles and about 40 water crossings on them. I know that they aren't Japanese parts, but they are cheap and if one breaks it just goes in the trash and I can slap another one on in 20 minutes.

Ah okay, Dorman also sells a wheel hub + bearing assembly for $100, wonder if anyone has experience with that.
 
I bought one of the Ebay Dorman hub/Koyo wheel bearing assemblies. Parts and pieces seemed identical to the other guys selling them. I too was concerned about shipping and communication. The Ebay vendor guaranteed 3 free day shipping and was $10 cheaper to my zip code so they got my business.
 
I went with Marion. I believe I have approx. 25,000 on it and everything looks and feels perfect. it took about a week for delivery and customer service was prompt(emails)

Would buy again

Plus one for this dude. Haven’t used him, but will purchase from him, probably this year, when I decide to proactively replace my front hubs. Heard good things and he uses quality parts. Planning on replacing both of my fronts at the same time before they fail, and keeping originals for spares.

FYI I’ve also heard there can sometimes be a week or two wait for his parts, I think he does this in his spare time. If you’re rushing, that could be an issue for you.
