Wheel locks

I have two sets of locks for my wheels, McGard for the OEM rims, and Gorilla for the aftermarket rims (different lug styles, otherwise I’d use one set of locks for everything).
I have no experience with OEM locks, but my locks have worked well for me. (I don’t live in a high crime area.)

I took my '19 ORP in for its 1 year service the other day and thought about having the dealer put on a set of their wheel locks while I was there. I have the TRD type black wheels.
Are these wheels desirable to the point that people are stealing them? My truck is kept in the garage and I really don't park it in places that aren't lighted and fairly secure. I decided to procrastinate some more on it.

Over here, if the theives want your wheels, any type of wheel locks won't stop them from taking them. You could have all 6 lugs locked and it wouldnt stop them.
I ran no wheel locks for the longest of time cause I knew they are worthless.
Then I hear from my co worker...her car was on bricks one morning, with the regular lugs off, with the locks still on them. It stopped the theives.
So, now I run oem locks, one on each wheel, ha. At least trying to turn off the less motivated nigh/day crawlers.

Kind of like padlocks keeping honest people honest. I may end up getting them.

The trick is to just make yours the least desirable in the area. So an alarm + a set of good wheel locks. I prefer the new Gorilla 2 Stage Locking lugs that replace every single lug nut with a 2 stage keyed lug. Pretty much impossible to use a breaker tool on, and even if you do, it's going to take 20 minutes to bust 24 locks with one of those hammer on lock removers.

I spent a little time in the scouts, very little time... The only thing that stuck with me was "A good Boy Scout is always prepared" - I have no worries about someone ripping off my street sweeper specials on my 99, but when I updrade to a 2k set of wheels/tires on the 01, you better believe I will have some wheel locks.
I have two sets of McGard locks on my wheels. That’s two locks on each wheel. I know they are relatively easy two remove by just hammering on a snug fitting impact socket over the lock, but that’s going to make some noise doing that to 8 locks. I figure it’s worth the expense to slow down a would be thief, and hopefully he’ll just move on to another target.
