wheel paint

I want to repaint my factory wheels as close to the original color as possible. Does anybody know if there is a specific toyota color for these wheels? Has anyone painted them with off the shelf spray paint that is close to the right color?

ya try this RUSTOLEUM | Auto Hiperf Wheel Steel | Home Depot Canada it is very close to the oem alloys

but my advice would be to ditch those ugly steelies and pick up a clean set of oem 1st-2nd gen alloys they usually run 125-150$ around here for clean sets.

it is a lot of work painting and prepping wheels for paint if you want them to last. for the amount of work just pick up the alloys

So today I went from

I ended up using duplicolor silver wheel paint. I tested it and the rustoleum silver wheel paint and liked the duplicolor better. However now that they are on the truck, I am contemplating painting them the darker color I painted the FJ wheels above. The stockers are almost too shiny now. It was after dark, so I need to get it in the sun to see for sure.

you need some bigger rubber! what color is on the first picture wheels?

The tires on the stockers are 235/75/15 and are only a tic shorter than the tires on the fj wheels. Which I know those tires weren't huge either.

The fj wheels are painted duplicolor graphite.

I do agree it would look better with some bigger tires though. It's just unnecessary at this point. The runner gets babied. I don't see the point in big tires on it when it doesn't see the trails, doesn't see snow, etc. The bottom picture is the dirtiest it's ever been since I have owned it. I searched 6 months to find a clean, rust free, unmolested one and I plan on keeping her that way.

I would like to have one to beat on though. Maybe someday down the road.
