Wheel size question

sooo i have a set of the 5 spoke star wheels, and i attempted to paint them...... stupid stupid choice. i took every precaution possible, and did everything properly, but for some reason ran into a slew of problems....

so heres my deal, im over these stupid wheels and i just want new ones, but after market. i just bought a new set of goodyear wrangler duratracs and i would like to keep them, and for the record they are 265/75/16's. but my main questions is what width wheel do i need. 8, 8.5, or what? and what backspacing do i need. i would prefer a little bit wider stance, and space for the tundra break upgrade possible down the road. so what sizes should i be looking at?

and any recomendations on any black wheels for reasonable prices? say under $130 a wheel.

thanks as always

pissed off this time- Taylor

Okay for a 265 -285 a 16x8 will be fine and I believe factory BS is 4.5 inch and for a wider stance you can go to a 3.75 BS and think this is fairly common swap based on prior threads I have read. As for blacked out wheels in that price range not sure other then maybe some Rock Crawler brand Steel, but am sure you can find a few alloy ones in that range.

So are you currently running the new Duratrac's? If not, I'm sure your just drooling looking at them. I finally put a good 50 mile back road trip on my new duratrac's and the traction is excellent. The only thing that I miss is being able to get all sideways on the trails, now it just sticks like glue.

Still tryng to decide on the type of tire. there is a shop near me that can get a great deal on the 265/75 Duratracs at 569 for 4 but cant get a good price break on the 285's. I am almost leaning toward the BFG KM2's road in a friends truck with them and they are real quiet and fairly agressive MT for all the trail use I do. But I might just stick with an AT. Main thing is I need to wait for the budget to get anything.
