wheel spacer question

i want the wheels to be flush. i have read there is a 1/2 inch difference. what quality spacers have them in a 1/2 in difference. 1 1/2 and a 2 would be fine or 1 1/4 and 1 3/4. i know there is a reason for the offset but does it make a lot of difference if they are even? any one do this?

Spidertrax is the brand of spacer I have and what most everyone here on the forum recommends - can't remember exactly what the spacing is, but I believe they offer only one that is hub-centric for our 4th gen 4 Runners. They made my wheels set out flush which made it look 100 times better in my opinion. Spidetrax are very high quality and I have had good luck with them so far.

But always I swear that it feels like the handling on my sport increase. it defenitely has decreased the amount of body roll on high speed corners :hatsoff:.

I second the handling. I drive like a nut and I pretty much KNOW the increase in width has made a huge difference!!!

I went with All-Pro for my spacers. I called them and asked for hub and wheel centric in 1.25 to match what Spidertrax has. They are NOT on their website BUT they are cheaper and if anyone really cares, not purple. Not part of my choice making. I've just worked with All-Pro many times in the past on other Toys.

I got a set of All-Pro 1.5 from CHristmas and love them. Better handling going around the corners, ....., and just feel more solid on ground. Main thing is the looks and the stance. They only offer sizes from 1.5 and up. I saw someone, I thought it was Spidertrax, that offered smaller sizes, but I could be wrong. Here are some pictures of mine before and after.

The first small picture is before adding the wheel spacers. When installing, make sure you clean the surface real good to get a tight fit (PB Blaster, wire brush, etc..). Also put some RED threadlock on the spacers before bolting down, and torque to around 100. After you have driven 100-200 miles, remove the tires and re-torque again.

I'm not interested in a lift or bigger tires at the moment.

If you want your tires to be flush with your fender and want better handling then it is worth it, even with stock tires. It will give you a slight rub but hopefully JA can give you an insight on how to fix it.

Adding the spacers will most likley cause some rubbing on the fronts when you turn. It required some minor trimming of the front and back portions of the inside of the fenders, utility saw and hack saw is all you need for that.

I know what you are referring to. The difference between the front and the rear after installing the spacers. It's not bad or really noticeable at all. The measurements I have on my site show that the rear wheels will still be 1/2" tucked in more than the front, BUT that is measuring from the furthest outward point on the 06+ flares. In reality, if you look at the measurement in comparison to the mud flaps it is flush front and rear. I really like the (new?) all pro 1.5" wheel spacers and didnt know about them when purchasing the spiders. The 0.25" wider stance would be great for the rears. What I ideally would have done was but a set of the spidertrax for the front and a set of the all-pro's for the rear. But either way I think you will be happy and not notice the front to rear difference.

ok with what he just said anyone want to split these up if i order a set of all pros in 1.25 and one in 1.5. that will be 2 sets of front 1.25 and rear 1.5. that should look way better.

IMO my tires appear pretty even from front to rear. Of course the amount the tire will stick out also will depend on the width of the tire itself also.
I tried to get a good pic of the front to rear aspect of my 4runner but failed. these are the only two pics worth anything and the angle of the shot could be off. (this is with 1.25 spidertrax and 255/75/17)
Maybe they do give better performance?? Hopefully more stable once lifted... But, it just looks HOT!
They may give you more room on the uca for bigger tires. But, yes, even stock tires rub with these on a turn. Just remove those mudflaps get out the dremel and move your inner fender. Maybe even a big hammer if you do want bigger tires.

Yep, blue. Spidertrax were I think 100 per set new. Kinda pricey maybe but hopefully the best quality.
