wheel spacer question

hay all, just got my 99 limited runner a 3inch toytech lift and am wondering if wheel spacers is what i need to do to get the "wide" look. i was thinking of keeping my stock rims and going up one tire size in width on them and then a 1.5inch wheel spacer to get the tires outside of the flare. if the wheel spacer is the way to go what is the largest tire i can put on?? thanks

1.5 wheel spacers will still be a little inside of your limited flares... if you want the tires to stick out a little farther than your flares you will need 2inch spacers.

or you can search for a set of crager soft 8's (69.95 each wheel), or find a nice set of used wheels on your local craigslist. might take a little more time to find but thats what i did and it was a great find with tires and i like the ride of my 17s because i dont off-road too often im on pavement 90% of the time.

Yeah, after my toytec lift it was a little too narrow for me, I ended up installing spidertrax spacers, which worked out perfect seeing that I just got 285 duratracs. Looks perfect. I'll post a pic later

2nd that but I went with Allpro 1.25'' and 285 Duratracs as well.

are there down falls or draw backs to using spacers?

Depends on who you ask, they are marked as "for offroad use only". I have them on my Daily driver and never had a problem. P.S Discount tire will not install wheels with spacers on your rig, I just found that out.

I have a 2000 with the limeited fender flares, an i hated how my tires looked like the were crammed under my car, so i put the spider trax 1.25 spacers on my stock rims, with 265.75.16 Duratracs an it makes the tires flush with my fender flares. A little scrubbing at first , then put some billstiens up front an that took care of the problem :bravo:

EDIT: and also this is my daily driver an i have had no problems at all except for my scrubbing, but other than that the ride is just as smooth as before.
