wheel spacers=vibrations?

What gives? I install 1/4 inch wheel spacer all around so my 285/75R16's wont rub on a-arms at full droop, and I get crazy viration up front, very little in the rear. Maybe I need the poly bushings on the rack and pinion? Was thinking of getting sonoran steel modded upper a-arms. The spacers aren't an exact fit. Actually they are a pretty "sloppy" fit. I just can't believe 1/4 inch is that big a deal! Any one else have any positive experience using these? Thanks.

you need high quality hubcentric ones... then they will not/should not vibrate...

I've had huge spacers on my previous BMW's before... and BMW's are shimmy happy... Lets just say with quality spacers, I had no shimmy problems at all... On my M Roadster, I had 20mm hubcentric FK Automotive spacers and it was great... On my E39, I ran 27mm Rogue Engineering hubcentric spacers and there was no shimmy at all. I did order some custom 30mm spacers and it ended up with a slight shimmy... Bottom line is to get a set from a well known company... Custom ones should work since you don't really need to get huge ones... just make sure they are hub centric... Be sure to get the ones that you bolt on or else you would need to get new studs.
