Wheel spacers?

I'm toying with adding wheel spacers. Any thoughts? Negative feedback or experiences? If you've had a good experience with spacers which do you recommend?

i've been running the spidertraxx 1.25" spacers for about 3 years now with absolutely no problems. love the stance it gave on the stock tires/lift. i didn't have any rubbing issues. I did run into a slight rub when i added the level kit and larger tires. easy fix though.
 
I have also had Spidertrax 1.25" spacers for around a year w/ only one issue. I have noticed that the VSC / AUTO LSD activates when I make sharp turns at a faster than normal speed. It could be due to the high lift (5" front, 3" rear), bigger tires, and spacers combined. Not sure since I did everything around the same time. My solution was to either turn it off, or not make fast, sharp turns. :bounce:

Other than that, I love the look of the spacers!
 
Excellent feedback. Just got the 4th gen 4runner and only visual issue was the narrow stance to body look. Probably do the spidertraks 1.25 soon. Nshooter...noise level on bfg ats?
 
I will also likely try to find some hidden winch mod in the future. This is my dd so I want to keep a lot of stock features but that means trouble off road. I have four wheelers for that:) just need to get a little off road most of the time.

There's the hidden winch that someone on here made or the hidden receiver,
I have the receiver and it worked great to pull me out of the mud, you could easily slide a winch on there though.

2 things since you're toying with idea of spacers & hidden winch , checkout motorsport tech/bora Lenny makes them in different width's you won't be stuck with just 1.25 & their black ! Bibo is the gentlemen who came up with 1 if the make's for a hidden winch , search it out very nice !!
 
Ran Spidertrax on my '03 Tundra for 12,000 miles with no issues. Use red-loctite, tighten to 85 ft lbs in a star shaped pattern and you will have no issues.

Of course the correct thing to do is to find wheels with the correct offset but in my case I really liked the stock split 5 spoke "Sequoia" wheels but they were too sucked in with the 1st Gen Tundra's wide-ish flares.
 
I was hesitant to try spacers since I've heard about issues with vibrations but I have had no issues with the Spidertrax 1.25" spacers.
 
We run Spidertrax 1.5" too with no issues for over a year now. The problem people run into is over or under tightening lug nuts while running spacers.

EDITED: We're running 1.5", not 1.25".
 
If you get some, make sure you know the difference between hub centric and lug centric. A buddy gave me a set for my Tacoma when I had it and they were the wrong type. Coming over a bridge at 65 MPH one of my wheels decided to come off. Not trying to tell you not to, there's too many people that have run them with no issues. Just double and triple check before installing
 
I just got some All Pro 1.5" spacers, stock height/wheels/tries. Haven't installed yet, but am wondering if anyone runs 1.5", and if I'll run into any issues? Seems 1/4" wouldn't make THAT much of a difference?

I looked back through our build and realized we're running 1.5" Spidertrax spacers with no issues. However we also have a 3" Ironman lift and LT265/70/R17 KM2's.

I run spidertraxx 1.25" wheel spacers. My primary concern before and after installing them was possibly the added stress on the bearings that could in the long term cause premature wear. Picked up a set of FJ Cruiser rims this weekend, just waiting to get a set of 255/75(80)/17 BFG mud terrains before I take out the spacers.

I'd rather have the peace of mind than wonder about such things in the back of my mind as I have a child to consider now.
 
As far as stress on the truck, there is no difference between stock wheels and spacers versus aftermarket wheels with the equivalent width and backspace.

Correct, either will add "stress" to the wheel bearings. How much and how long is hard to say. So if you properly maintain the vehicle, you'd just have to replace them sooner. It's not like something will fail out of the blue.
 
I have a friend running 1.5" for around 5+ years and wheels like the worlds ending and he has yet to have an issue. Just FYI. :)

Do the FJ wheels offer offset? I had KM2s on my wrangler. Very good tire off road! Also less noisy than general grabber at2. However they r E rated. Very stiff plus it was jeep! I couldn't take as my dd.
