Wheel/Tire Suggestions

I'm reletively new to the Toyota scene, recently aquirring a 1988 SR5, 3.0 w/ a 5 speed. The truck sits at stock heighth right now, but I am considering lifting it just a little. The truck is in need of new tires and wheels, so I was wondering what you guys would suggest. The truck is mainly used around town or highway, but I do offroad occasionally.

Seems to me there are a lot more tire options at 16" rather than 15". Have many 4Runner folk switched to 16s?

This is true, but most of the tires we're likely to run can be had in 15". I would only switch to 16" if I were going bigger than 35s, since Goodyear dosen't make the 37x15x12.50 anymore.

I only know a couple of guys running bigger than 15" rims, one it a yota tube buggy running 42" Iroks on beadlocks, and the other is a Jeep that just swapped 2 8-lug full widths on with 40x16x16.50 pitbull rockers.

Ask, and you shall recieve. I can only find a work in progress of the jeep, but you will get the idea lol. The fronts are 33x12.5x15 Goodyear MTRs, backs are 40x16.5x16 Pitbull rockers.

Yota Tube buggy - Too many mods to list.
