Wheelers Suspension Setup

First off I have a 99 limited 4wd.

I'm looking to get a level 2" of lift so I've gone with the following setup:

-Bilstein 5100 shocks front and rear. ( adjustable front )
-OME 2881 front coils
-OME 2906 rear coils
-1" diff drop kit
-steering rack bushing kit while i'm at it..

Plan to run 265/70-r16 toyo a/t's possibly with 1" hub centric spacers.

Think this will give me the lift im looking for without issues at the cv joints?

I did that same setup except 890s in the rear. I got about 2.5 front and 3 rear. I would have a little rake than reverse rake. but I’m sure 906 will get you 2 or so.

When placing your order put in the notes that you are from T4r.org and that you were told there was a forum discount. They will give you 5% off. I have called in before and that is really all the room they have for discounts.

Also i've heard the OME spring setup if fairly stiff..

I plan on running an ARB front bumper, and maybe a rear as well.

I'll be using the vehicle for daily driving on hellish roads (seriously some of the worst in the nation), as well as weekend trips on some moderate trails to camp spots, and carrying probably 200-300 lbs of gear.

Do you all think this is a good setup? Or are different coils/ shocks better suited for what I need?

Rake is the rear end being slightly higher than the front. I didn’t want rear end sag once the suspension settled so I decided better to go half inch higher in their rear and have a little rake until it settles. And if it doesn’t settle I still prefer rake to sag.

As for the harsh ride I have read about with ome seems to be more related to their shocks. I used the 5100 (4Runner specific) and the ride is very nice.

Maybe take a look at the Bilstein 6112 for the front as another option. That's the route I took with OME906/Bilstein 5100 rear. Shrockworks front bumper and Addicted rear bumper. The rear will be stiff without added weight. I have 2" lift with this set-up.

If no one mentioned it and you haven't done it yet then it would be a good idea to add lower Toyota Ball Joints to that list.

It seems to be a rule of thumb to replace the tired BJ's when lifting these rigs.

I'll second this. while you are lifting, it's a good opportunity to replace LBJ, as well as inspect UBJ, ITRE, OTRE, and sway bar bushings, mostly because the removal of the front strut makes the rest of these items fairly easy maintenance items. I would also look at extended length sway bar end links in front and rear to bring the bars to a more natural position, if you plan on keeping them on. An easy way to do this is buy new 3rd gen front links for the rear (or reuse if in good shape) and buy 2nd gen rear links for the front.

Lots of good discussions on diff drops. I would save some money and not do one. Or I could send you my brand new one if I can find it in my shop if you still want one.

edit: I see now its a coil/ shock combo duh....

Did you have any issues with rubbing/ did you run spacers?
