Hello all. Just got back from a great trip in the U.P. For all of you that don't know it is a great piece of back country just north of WI. but owned by MI. It is a great place to do it all from Wheelin' to campin', hell most place you can use a snowmoblie or a 4wheeler as a second vehicle. Lots of logging trails and 4wheelin' trails to explore.
Well enough advertising, on with the trip. We headed out on Tue. and 3 hours later we were at a nice little camp ground on a lake with only one other site being used. It was great we pretty much had the place to ourselves, but that really did not matter because we were out exploring every day from just after breakfast until just about dark. Oh, before I go any further I need to tell you who I took with me. It was me, my wife Lisa, our 2 year old daught Keely, and our dog Shilo.
We went out very day looking for waterfalls and lighthouse. And we went via logging trails as much as we could, it was great. My wife is an awsome navigator. One lighthouse we went to was total back county to get to and once we got there we head out on 4wheeler trails. Our '04 4Runner is totally stock at the moment, but that is only temporary since I called the boys at Slee Off Road and order the OME lift for the next trip. We really need it since we crossed and made it back crossing a marsh on nothing but luck. I still can't beleive we made it out. Also we were on a sweet trail having a great time only to have it come to an end at a low water crossing that was just a like to risky, after the marsh. But I will make my #1 challenge after the lift is on the rig.
Another highlight of the trip was my wife getting to pull her first fallen tree off of the trail, she did a great job. Well I will let the pics tell the rest of the story. And if anybody lives in the U.P. or plans to make a trip up let me know I would love to share this wonderful area with you all. Enjoy the pics.
