Cool,

I am thinking Sept 24 or Sept 17. Those are both Sat. But of course Sundays are cool with me.

Boys only Club?

If it's not just a good ol' boys club, I would love to meet some locals. I've been doing light off- roading for a few years now. I usually hopped in someone elses truck. My 2Wheel Ford Explorer likes to get stuck.

So I could use some pointers on using my own 4x4 And look forward to some great desert runs.

Clarify

I bought my 4Runner Sunday. Not even 200 miles yet. So now I can play with my current off road buddies and make some new.

Everyone is welcome. I think its a very stock friendly trail and it would only take 1/2 a day. The more the merrier.

I'm not finding much in the way of trail info. The only page that I found with photos looks like it's mostly water. Also, do you have any GPS coordinates for it or know how far it is from 91320? I would be down with going, but Saturdays are harder for people who have kids in soccer (like me). It would depend on what time the soccer games are over for me to run on a Saturday. Sundays would be best for me. I also have some friends that would like to go... can I bring them as well if I can make it?

I've driven this road a couple times to do the hike at the end. Tame, but pretty fun after a heavy rain. Search for Holy Jim Trail on the net, and you can find detailed directions to the trail. Here's the first link I found:

Holy Jim

It looks like I am going to make it 24th Sat. Meet at 10am on top of the Spectrum Parking structure to check out everyone's rig for an hour or so then head off to the trail. I have not been there yet, but from what I have read its pretty easy and stock friendly. This is my first time wheelin, so I do not want to do anything challenging or put any big dings in her. This looks like a very nooby friendly trail, but anyone is welcome. I think its going to take only half a day, so plan accordingly.

Scouting the trail

Which parking structure. The new one is now open. So there is the one by Robinson's May and one at the front by the theater.

It is going to be pretty dry back there right now. I don't think there wil be much water.
Are you doing the hike, or just the driver?

I'm interested and going to be checking any responses to this thread, so I hope to join you with my 2WD. Thx Kenn.

ok,

I don't know who is really going to go. But I am up for a few people going or a lot. The plan is meet at Irvine Spectrum on top of the parking structure @ 10am. It is the structure right across from the Fish Market. Check out people's rigs for an hour or so, then head up to Holy Jims. Leave by 11. Wheel for as long as you want and then head on home. Lunch is on your own, so plan accordingly. I think its half a day tops and a rather easy trail. I plan not to hike MsMarine, just wheel and have a good time.

Oooo...been looking for an opportunity to do this with some seasoned people. I have a coworker that just picked up a new T4R limited 4x4 this past Wed and I know he would love to go if he has time.

Is this still going to happen this Sat 24th?
