Wheels for a 2011 5th gen

What would you all recommend for a lightweight 17" wheel? I like the TRD forged wheel but at $399 a pop, that is a bit expensive for 4. What about buying a set of the standard SR5 wheels; what's a good price for used wheels? Anyone know how much the SR5 wheels weigh? Thank you for your assistance.

My brother picked up a set of TRD's for his 11 Land Cruiser, they were specific to his rig. Iooked into them for my 11trail and discouvered they do not have them for 10-11 4Runners. They do not make a 17 for our rig at this time, I looked into it. Anyway, He lifted his Land Cruiser with an ARB 3inch lift put on some 285's and it looks good with the TRD's. The problem I see with trd wheels is that the width of the wheel and back spacing, the way the width of the tires seem to the wheel wells/fender needs to stick out another inch at least. I like a stout look and the way his looks with the wide body you have to get something under it with a little wider stance.
Otherwise it looks like it has skinny legs underneath it. I have a 9inch wheel with
4 1/2 inch back space and it turned out really good for me. The tread is still under the fender and the side wall is outside it.
As far as lightweight goes, all aluminum wheels are going to be close in weight to each other. There could be a little difference but not a big deal. Call Mike at 4Wheel Parts in Lynnwood washington he knows and they talk back space vs offset which is the more understandable way for me. Les schwab and the other tire stores are clueless, I got 4 completely different answers from 4 different les schwabs as far as the whole offset goes.

FYI - I have been told by TRD that the 4Runner TRD wheels will be available within the next few weeks.

I was told the same thing by my dealer. Available soon in a 6 lug pattern for the 4Runner. Apparently they are waiting for more wheels to come in from Japan before releasing them for sale at $399.00 each.

Update on the TRD wheels: Wheels are $399 MSRP and they require an install kit for $185.

Been doing some research lately as I just bought some new wheels.The lightest wheels that I found that fit our trucks are the Volks TE37's in an 18 inch and weigh 18 lbs .They are forged,super strong and really sweet! If you got the money,the way to go.At a cost of ~ $750 a piece.

The next closest I found are the Konig Countersteer X's and reported weight is 20.5lbs at a cost of $200 a piece. They are a knock off of the Volk TE37X's. Compomotive make some nice lightweight wheels. They are made in the UK and aren't cheap...

They use them on Rally type FJ Cruisers but I think they are only 16"...Bummer (But they do have "special order"---cha-ching)

Rays Engineering also makes a GramLight 57sx wheel. Also at about $750 a wheel.

They would definitely be strong enough as they are made for trucks. The Volks are forged and have to be special ordered with a 4-6 month wait time.
Never seen or heard of any problems with the Konigs(Volk Knockoffs) and alot of us and Tacos off road with them and they are pressure cast rather then forged but still very strong IMO.
