I told my wife that I wish that the first dent I see on the 4R will be caused by one of our little daughters.
Because I know that will be the only reason I will not be pissed.
We have had the 4R for 10 months and still no dents and very few scratches (it is black). Scratches are very small and a good waxing makes them disappear.

Now I am curious how long you had your 4R before you notice the first dent? And how did you feel?

68,000+ miles and still no dents, nor dings. The 3" lift makes a huge difference, along with parking in the back 40.

Well I have to say the first dent we made.It happened when we slid sideways in a foot of snow wedged up against a tree, damn stock diffs.Nothing like yelling at the wheels "You stop spinning and HEY you back there at least try!".

my first DENT? Try DENTSSSSS - Hail storm within 2 weeks of ownership. Didn't have cover... worst storm we've seen in forever. There were cars at the dealership (brand new 06's that had to be totalled) I cried

Luckily at 5 months, none yet. Usually all my cars get a dent, from DAY ONE from closing the hood very softly meaning not dropping it, and gently closing it, then applying force on top of the hood. Usually that's where the dent comes in. Luckily I like the design of the grill on the 4R and when I close the hood of my 4R, you push down on the top of the grill, not on the metal hood. :D

36 months and it was a little more than a dent.

My son was driving the 4runner and hit the back of a Dakota pickup with the front drivers side fender. The Dakota had about $500.00 in damages.

$19,000 in repair to the 4runner and 3 months and we have it back.

Some dent Huh?

I actually noticed my first ping yesterday after giving it a wash. It must have been caused by a huge rock or somebody door slamming into my truck. :(

36K without any dents, at least up till now. However, I do have some deep scratches that I acquired in a parking lot with only 600 miles on the truck.

you should have made a when did you get your first flat thread. I lived in Japan for 6 years and not once did I have a flat in 6 years of driving. I have been in the US for 7 months now and I have had 2 flats. The most recent was this past saturday. :(

9 months and no dents, just 1 or 2 small scratches, but they are so small no one else besides me would notice them. I may get around to buffing them out soon.

The day I purchased it is when I saw the first scratch. I was actually relieved. It's small enough to easily buff out, but I'm leaving it for the time being. It gives me comfort knowing I don't have to worry now about the first scratch. I even mentioned it to the dealer and he was all ready to take care of it, but I told him to leave it.

mine has a couple of hairline scratches from the front to rear, due to the stupid branches while going through some off road trails. well i don't really give a damn, since 4runner is going to be my off road vehicle and have no intention to sell it.
