When do you change your oil?

I've not read the owner's manual yet - when do most of you change the oil?

every 5k using castrol edge synthetic oil and mobil 1 filter. the runner has 74k
on it know and havent had one problem. im sure your going to get a whole lot of different opinions on this.

I was told that in order to keep my Lifetime drivetrane warranty valid, I have to change it every 5,000 miles and not a single mile over!

With synthetic I consider time being a factor vs miles to a point. My 4Runner only sees about 9k miles a year and I change mine between 8-9k or by the 11th month using M1 and a Puralator PureOne filter. I just make sure I don't go longer than a year between changes.

Every 5 to 6 thousand miles. I should change it a little more often.

I change the oil and filter every 6 months on my 2003 V8. Almost all my driving is in the city (stop and go).
