where and how

OK- had my 4runner sr5 6 months now and still can't figure "some" things out. Granted, I am a finance type, not an engineering type, but I really don't consider myself extra non-mechancial. so here is my list of questions, with appreciation for all of you patient types who believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question:

1) I cannot find a mist control for the wipers where it goes one swipe. So the only way I can wipe a little thing off is to put on the washer with wiper. Looked at my wife's camry and it says mist on her handle on the steering column but mine doesn't say that. (she is doing her best to not laugh about that!) So now I assume I don't have one. Can somebody PLEASE tell me why this is this way? Or, maybe it is evading me....

2) how come toyota designed this truck without a little cup for you to drop in your change? It's got a hamburger tray (2 in fact). It seems the only place to put coins is to load them into the little coin holder in the console. And I can't do that with a big mac in one hand.

3) Where is the best place to mount your cell phone? I'm just going to put a piece of velcro somewhere.

4) There are a few extra switch plates to the left of the steering column where the 4 wheel drive icon is located. Anyone know what those could hold?

5) Sometimes when I am stopped on a hill, the car decides to make a loud clicking noise like the tranny won't engage. So, I brake, give it some gas, and it goes. Can anyone explain that to me?

I'd love some answers. It's my birthday tomorrow and then Christmas. I'd consider the answers a great gift!

I use the coin holder as well as the little tray just in front of the armrest to throw my change into....

When I am on my cell phone, I use that thing that should be an ashtray, with the 12 volt plug. Just open it and set the cell phone in it when I am using it w/ the hands free wire...

It is a mechanism to prevent the car from rolling backwards. Mione scared the hell out of me when I first heard it...

1) No mist control. I just pull the wiper control toward me and it mists and wipes.

2) I also use the little pocket in front of the center armrest but mostly I use the coin holder within the armrest. Besides, you should be driving and eating at the same time. Greasy fingers not good for interior :

3) I also use the pocket where the cigarette lighter is. I'm a non smoker so ash isn't going in there...

4) These can hold a lot of different things. They are just blanks if you want to put auxilary switches, a little coin holder, a pen holder, led for alarms etc. Look at Luxury's ride. He his the 4 ROTM this month and near the last page is where he has pics of a pen and coin holder.

5) Yes this is the Hill Assist kicking in. Its attempting to keep you from rolling backwards into the car behind you. It is modulating but it only last for a few seconds. If you don't do anything at all, it'll start beeping and you will roll back. Just step on the gas and you should start going forward.

1. As stated, no mist control. My grandparents RAV4 has one and the Corolla's have one but not our 30K 4Runner's!!

2. That is where I leave my change too, but I don't have a need for it. E-Z PASS!!

3. I don't mount my cell phone anywhere. I would never put velcro or drill holes in my dash. When it is charging, I just leave it in that little door below the HVAC controls. When I am talking on it, I leave it in the hamburger tray.

4. They could be used for anything. Extra lights is a common one or I know somebody installed a rear locker on this board.

5. Hill Start Assist gadget.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Now I now I am not crazy in continuing to look for the mist speed and that the clicking isn't a bad thing. How strange!
