where are the call letters?

i am hoping this is a stupid question with a simple answer. i have the upgraded JBL 10-speaker 6-disc system in my 4runner. for some reason i am unable to get the system to tell me what station i am tuned into. it will tell me the song title and the name of the artist, but will not show the station's call letters. when i press the "Text" button, it shows more text, but still doesn't show the call letters. when i hold down the text button, it beeps, but still no call letters. this has been bugging me for a while, but it is driving my wife nuts. is my radio busted, or is this just how it works?

all i want to see is the call letters, i don't care about the text!

I forgot what the proper name is, but that is something that is dependent of the station to provide. Not all stations provide this feature. So the radio is just picking up whatever text is being broadcasted by the individual stations, if they don't broadcast the song/artist/station text then the radio doesn't display it...
