Where are we with catted headers for the V8?

I admit I have not recently looked into options out there as the last time I did, it yielded nothing however at this point in time, has anyone developed a suitable alternative to the catted OEM headers on the V8, performance-oriented or otherwise?

I am in touch with a company that has voiced interest in developing something.

If nothing exists, what have been the more notable setbacks?

If Doug Thorley would stop dragging their feet we would have a nice set of "offroad" headers.

Interested in 4.7L 4Runner Headers???????


There's always the cheap Pacesetters....their quality is hit or miss, mostly miss.

This is where we are:

Option 1: You can replace them with other (sh!tty) OEM ones and try to get the dealer to pay.

Option 2: You can replace them with other (sh!tty) OEM ones and just bite the bullet and pay.

Option 3: You can replace them with Pacesetter ones.

Option 4: You can replace them with Magnaflow ones.

Option 5: You can read through the many long threads about having custom ones made and get angry when you realize that all the threads dies on the second to last page.

Me personally: I tried option 1 and it didn't work. I refuse to spring for option 2, I have already tried option 5 so now i'm just trying to decide between 3 and 4. I'm leaning towards 4 because it seems if you dig deep enough there are a few people who went with option 3 developed a rattle after af few months of use.
