Where do you get your OEM brakes?

So at 126k miles, my'16 need new rotors although the pads still have a lot of life left. I bought her used 1.5 years ago with a bit of rotor warpage and the dealer (not a Toyota dealer) just turned them to flatten them out. Not sure if their still the original rotors and pads or not.

Anyway, I will be getting bigger wheels, steel bumpers, winch, roof rack in a couple months... and just bought a tandem 6x12 to tow. It has brakes on it and I'm adding the brake contror in a couple weeks.

So I decided it's time for a brake upgrade to compensate.

But after reading through the forums, it still seems like OEM is still the best option even with all the upgrades. So if that's the case, where do you all buy the OEM rotors and pads from? The dealer here is 2xs the price on everything so their out. 1 bottle of atfws was $24. F that. Rockauto does not sell Toyota brand... So would they be under a different manufacturer name? They do ship but they are local to me so I am able to just pick them up.

Just throwing this out there but Centric premium rotors are very nice and aren't very expensive. Those along with Akebono pads are a great combo. I used to always go with OEM pads & rotors until I discovered those parts, now I won't go back.

This. This exactly. Raybestos coated rotors aren't bad either.

Which are the premium version you guys are referring to?

Then the Raybestos have Truck long life speciality rotors and also the Performance r300. Both a little more expensive them the Centric, but are they really worth it?


And for the Akebono pads, there is an ACT version or the ASP Performance version. Which do you use?

I have the Raybestos R300 Rotors and ACT pads on my '16 4Runner Limited and my '16 GMC Terrain Denali.

They bite real good when you press the brakes. I've been doing this style setup for years on my other cars as well.

Now, both my vehicles are stock (no lifts, oversized wheels, etc) and I live in the Chicago-land area. They work great for me. I bought the parts from Rock Auto.

ACT version for pads.

I haven't ever tried Raybestos rotors of any kind so I can't comment. Once I found the above Centric/Akebono combo I've never felt that I needed anything else.
