my 2003 was made in Japan. There is a sticker in the drivers door jamb that shows assembly location.

All 4Runner's are made in Japan. Another way of telling is if your VIN number starts with a J.

They are made in the Tahara (Japan) factory which won JD Power's 2004 Platinum Award which is given to the factory with the fewest defects based on vehicles sold in the US market.
