Where is the efi main relay located??

Hey guys. I'm swapping a 7mgte into an 88 4runner that had the 22re. I am goin through the wiring and I am not gettin any power into the wires that power the ecu near the pass. Side kick panel. I am not new to swapping engines but have mostly swapped into supras. I can not find the efi main at all. I found the headlight relay in the junc box and the circuit opening relay behind the speaker and found the main relay at the driver side junc. Where the hell is the efi main?? Everyone is sayin its under the hood. But I promise you its not. No matter what I do with the ign I have no power through those wires. I do have the start signal and fuel pump running when key is turned on to the start pos.. But no power through the main ecu power wires. Please help. Thanks. Travis

I'll look on mine to see if it is aroind the driver fuse box. Are both of the AM fuses good? I'll check on my 89 in a few minutes.

Yes all fuses throughout have been checked. None were bad. For some reason 89+ they moved the efi main where they should be in the junction box under the hood. Don't know why they didn't do that in he first place.

That's great info. Do you happen to have a wiring diagram as well?? Are you gettin these from online?? The main relay is activating when key is on. But I still have no power on the bigger gauge wires, (main ecu power wires).

Those are from the FSM - there's a link in the stickies on top of the forum. And that'll be the extent of my help, cuz I know nuttin' bout no EFI relay. Good luck, you should come back with a build thread when you get it done!

I have an electrical overhaul manual that I can email you. I can't for the life of me remember where I got it.

Relays don't fail that often, fuses and fusible links do. Have you checked the ones in both fuse panels (esp the engine bay fuse panel)?

I have not checked the fusible links yet. Thanks ill do that as soon as I get home.

could you email me that wiring overhaul also? i had a field mice nest on top of the main wiring harness coming out of the firewall by the wiper motor (93 4runner) and they chewed thru 3/4 the wires.

Wouldn't do you any good. His is an 88 and mine is a 89. Yours being a 93, completely different.

Click the first link in the sticky and look for the 90-95 4Runner, select "online" option and then select the wiring manual.

I am reading thos very focused because I just pulled my EFI relay and now the 4runner will not start.
