Where is the thermostat?

Hi Everyone,

I've search all over this site and I'm surprised (unless I look right at it and didn't know) that I can't find any info on this.

I have a 1996 4Runner SR5 3.4l 4x4 and I'm trying to replace the t-stat. The location where I though it was (Where the upper hose goes into the engine), doesn't look right, so before I start unbolting things I wanted to confirm where it is first.

Lil' help please.

the thermostat will be after the hose running from the bottom of the radiator into the engine. the top hose is the return line.

Since you've already locate your thermostat, I'll just give my answer even if it will not count. Hahaha.. It is under the housing that the lower radiator hose hooks to on the engine.
