Where to black out headlights?

I was just curious, what type of shop should I be looking for to get an idea of pricing to have the chrome in my headlamps blacked out? I don't want to do it myself because I don't feel comfortable baking them in the oven and whatnot. Thanks.

BTW: how are you liking your lift and tires. going back would you have done something else?

i've read alot about lifting and i'm looking at lifting my 2008 Black T4R, but i am considering doing the 3/2 cornfed with 285/70/17 (just for looks cuz in s.d. cali there not to many places to go offroad!)

When these tires wear out (not for a few years at least) I will be going with the 3/2 and 285's, so if you do that now, you will skip the middle ground that I am on now. I am totally satisfied with it though, no complaints other than slightly more might have been even better. :bigok:

As for that link, it seems like they have the JDM headlamps to replace the stock ones, but I didn't see anything about having headlamps painted. Unless I missed something?
 
I wanna do mine too but not confident enough to break open my headlights as well.. my friend did my headlights on my accord but i had an extra set though.. i'll prolly look out for another set and have my friend do it
 
I know it wasn't an outrageous lift or huge tire change but have you had any issues pulling into parking garage's or home garage's with what you've done ??

Nope. Most parking garages are 7-8 feet clearance, some are more. But either way, the 4Runner isn't anywhere near that high, and a few inches of lift won't change that.

I don't park in a garage at home, I live in a 3 Bedroom townhouse (complex) so I park mine in the back alley. Sure is fun backing into parking spots in a dark alley with limo tint. :bigok:
 
Yeah I agree. Besides, no offense because I know you guys are trying to help, but I am not looking to buy new housings, just for a place that can paint the inside of my current ones. Thanks.
 
Just go to any body shop, they will be able to do it no problem. As far as baking them in the oven, I agree it sounds sketchy. But I watched my roommate do it and its a breeze. The hardest part is removing the headlights. Many people have done it without incident. I will be doing it as soon as I get some time, because it does take a full day to do and have everything dry. I am going to remove that amber reflector in the corners. Doing this will save you big $$$, all you need is some paint and a silicone sealant.

what do you plan on replacing the amber reflector with? nothing? I am going to do this project. I restored the lenses this morning.
