Where to buy OEM parts online?

Hello!

I just purchase my first 2009 Limited 4Runner and of course one of the first things I did was back into my garage door as it was still opening

Im so used to my 10 year old VW hatchback being 3 feet off the ground I just didnt think and backed into it and smashed the spoiler.

I don't know any reputable places to buy OEM equipment online, does anyone have any recommendations?

not sure of a specific place to order a spoiler from, most people that have purchased them as add-on modifications went through E-bay as there most inexpensive rout

as far as other OEM compatible replacement parts check RockAuto Auto Parts they're about half the price of any autoparts store.

then for dealer only items I've found Toyota Wholesale Parts - Authentic OEM Toyota Parts direct from Village Toyota Parts | Village Toyota Parts to be a cheaper source for dealer replacement parts as they sale wholesale prices.

Thank you. I will check this out. Over the years I tinkered with my VW so much I had a new network of online retailers that sold aftermarket and OEM stuff, and the OEM was usually quite a bit cheaper than going straight to a dealership.

Do you know if there are quality aftermarket spoilers that drivers prefer? Since Ive only had the 4runner for a week I was just going to go OEM since at this point I dont know any better.

I'm fairly certain there's only one spoiler option style which would be the OEM style there may be different third brake like configurations as I believe i've seem some that angle the third brake light down and some that point it straight back.

and just a bit of useless knowledge, none of the spoilers are OEM the 4runners that have them had them installed at the port after being shipped from japan on different trim package levels. like i said useless knowledge lol.

The 4runners came with two types of spoilers, either installed at the factory or port installed. The factory spoiler will be expensive, but the port spoiler will be a couple hundred dollars. Some dealers still have the port spoiler in stock and they come painted, so if they have your color you are in luck. One dealer that I have seen online that still has these is in Texas, maybe Dallas? If I find it I will post it.

No, they're different. Small difference to most people but now that I know the difference I look at every 4Runner I pass to see which one it has. Here's a thread with pics:

Click the search option above and then choose advanced search. Put Spoiler in the keyword and in the box underneath make sure it says titles only. Then make sure you have only the 4th gen forum selected and you'll see lots of thread on where people have bought them, pictures of installs, etc.

As far as buying from dealers online I personally use the Toyota of Dallas online parts website because they're local and I can go pick the parts up within a couple of hours.

I've also used Partznet which is a Toyota dealer up in PA called Conicelli.

Prices between the two are about the same. Like I said, I just use TOD because they're local. There are plenty of others, too.

I haven't priced spoilers but I'd imagine the OEM ones are a good bit more expensive. You'll just have to read through some threads and see if the cost is justified based on other people's experiences with the aftermarket ones.

The other good thing about the Village Toyota parts website is that theirs is actually the collision catalog and it has different and, a lot of times, better diagrams of assemblies.

OP, I don't know what color your 4Runner is but it looks like at Village Toyota the spoilers are about $600. Here's a link

Ive always had really good luck with ebay, just make sure the part is actually OEM and not OEM spec.

Thanks. When you bought your spoiler did it come with the install kit? I have an OEM one on now, but will obviously need to remove it to put the replacement on.

They both cost the same, and both are for 2009 model years... WHat is the sub-assy- rr mean?
