where to find a new motor?

So I'm in need of a new 4.7 engine for 03-04 t4r. I have a cylinder destroyed and just wanted to know if someone has an idea of where to get one.

Looks like the engine threw a piston rod.

It happens - even on well maintained engines. But it happens a lot more often on engines not well maintained (i.e. oil changes).

I'm curious as to what caused your failure, UZ engines are darn near bulletproof.

I just bought the car from a local Infiniti dealer. (1,178 miles ago) I was exiting the freeway and it just died. No warning what so ever. Somehow the piston topped out and crushed the plug. I have a carfax of all the maintenance and there where about 4 pages of maintenance including flushes, water pump, oil changes, and even timing belt. I just don't know what else was damaged because of this.

If your truck just quietly died... check the timing belt!

I would but I have to pull that piston as is because there is a hole in the piston and zero compression in the cylinder. I'll still have to check it out

I recently got a great deal on a 4.7L from LKQ. I called them directly and asked what they had. I ended up getting one with 89K for around $800 and swapping it in over 2 weekends. Then returned the core months later and got my core charge back.

It was $250. Also when you talk to them things like warranty and price are negotiable.
