Where to find a replacement rear window motor?

I have a 2nd gen and the rear window motor is pretty slow. Not to mention that is doesn't catch and roll down without constant pressure. It does roll up on its own, but very slow. I haven't looked at it yet, but I know I would like to put a new motor in it. I also haven't checked the dealer, nor do I really want to, they are always over priced.

Where can I find a new motor at a good price?

Is there any way to make the window roll up/down faster?

I just pulled door motors out of 85 celica and the drivers side motor is an exact match (with the exception of the connector) with the rear motor in my 86

Next warm day, drop your glass and open the tailgate. There is an acess panel inside the gate, it comes off easily with a few phillips head screws.

Inside, you will see the mechanism for the window. A slow motor is failry normal for these rigs I am told. I am considering a new motor too, but if you clean up the gears and grease it all, you should have an improvement. I do notice on mine that if my engine is running it works a lot better too. My electrical connectors were corroded and nasty, so I cleaned them too. Works much better now.

yeah, what he said. there are very few parts inside the motor that could actually wear out. so that should be the last piece you replace. start by cleaning and lubing all the moving parts inside and checking the electrical connections. if the electrical connections have corroded, then less current will make it to the motor and it'll be slower. as far as lubing, i found that the best one for me is to use something called "triflow" it's a bicycle lube that should be sold at most good bike shops. unfortunately it's a bit expensive because cyclists will pay lots of money for silly stuff (i'm a cyclist so i'm allowed to make fun of them). but it's cool because it has teflon dissolved in a degreaser. so when you spray it on it will dissolve all the crap that's on there now and then after the degreaser evaporates, it'll leave a nice layer of teflon behind. it works great.
