Where to find front mud flaps for a 99 limited fender flares style.

I just took off my running boards and realize I should of looked for front mud flaps first. I’ve been reading it’s difficult to find OEM. Does anyone have a source or know of a good alternative?

I ended up getting some off the bed of a wrecked Tacoma and cut/retrofit them to mount where the fender flare/liner bolts are located. It's not the best way of doing it but it serves its purpose. I can upload a picture if that's a route you'd wanna go.

That would be great if you can post a picture. There's a ton of tacoma's out here and can probably get some flaps at a junkyard. Is there bolts already on the 4runner or would I be using the bolts from the tacoma? Just curious because I'm not sure how these mount, but I can probably figure it out.

There are no OEM front Limited mudflaps - they ALL came with running boards. Same for the later 'wide' SR5 color-matched flares.

The front mudflaps that are hard to find came on the 'skinny' black SR5 flares. Mudflaps for the non-flared (or chrome strip) 4Runners are the 'easy' to find ones, though those are probably discontinued long ago too.

I had a feeling that was the case with the limited... It looks like Js'00imited4runner has the limited style fender flares by his pictures so hopefully I can manage with the tacoma ones he's talking about or I'll just have to go a universal mudflap route.

Yeah, the limited flares are tricky because of how the base tapers to meet the running boards. The wider SR5/Sport flares have more options because they round off at the base.

May be best to find a simple flat-style guard.

So i just called the toyota dealer and you can get the flares for the limited but it would be $868!!!! and apparently it comes in two pieces on each size whatever that means.

Here's how they look. I wanted to bring them a little lower but I had already cut them and lined them up.
Like I said they dont look the best but they do help out with snow/rain/mud etc.

Thanks for sharing! Gives me an idea on what to do. Btw I have the same Hankook tires. So far they’ve been good the last 10,000 miles.

Hello, This is a post from way back . last time i checked they were still available . As far as i know you will have to modify the back of mud flap in order for it to sit flush..

That's what to do if you have the wider SR5/Sport flares but they don't work that well with the limited flares. The base of them are slightly different, but different enough.

I know I'm a little late here but the guy in the thread that was posted installed them on a limited just fine with a minimal amount of trimming.
